Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Premier League play will resume after the latest international break with a more conventional schedule that features seven games on Saturday's main slate. A fantasy-rich early fixture between Arsenal and Manchester United will take several star contributors out of play, but the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Everton are poised to deliver plenty of value for fantasy managers.

GOALKEEPER

Lee Grant, v. (£6.7m): Grant has emerged as the go-to option for the Potters after allowing just four goals in his last six appearances and stopping 86 percent of shots faced in those matches. Bournemouth have managed just three goals in five away matches this season and should test Grant enough for him to continue his emergence as a top fantasy option.

Claudio Bravo, at (£7.4m): Bravo has allowed just three goals in his last four league appearances and will match up against a Crystal Palace side that have lost four consecutive matches. The Citizens will be heavy road favorites Saturday and could see their defensive prospects boosted by the return of captain Vincent Kompany, making Bravo a solid option at a position with few obvious choices this week.

DEFENDER

Aleksander Kolarov, at (£7.3): Kolarov has averaged a useful 1.7 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game this season and has deputized at center back of late. Vincent Kompany is expected to return this week, which would allow Kolarov to return to his natural fullback role, where he should have plenty of opportunities to get involved with the attack in a match that City are expected to control.

Seamus Coleman, at (£8.5m): Coleman has been one of the most productive fullbacks in the Premiership this season and even more so at Goodison Park, where he has averaged 7.12 fantasy points per game. Swansea have scored just 10 times this season and have not tasted victory since their opening match of the season, providing Coleman with a great opportunity to continue his outstanding campaign.

Danny Rose, v. (£9.8m): Rose's 7.8 fantasy points per game this season make him the highest-scoring defender on Saturday's main slate. West Ham have turned around their wretched start with a string of good results, but in a match that Spurs are expected to control on their home patch, Rose should be primed for another outstanding performance on both sides of the ball.

MIDFIELDER

Junior Stanislas, at (7.7m): Stanislas returned from a brief injury absence in Gameweek 11 with a solid performance that brought his average to 13.90 fantasy points per game over his last four. What's more, his 11.33 fantasy points per game on the season rank third among midfielders on Saturday's main slate, affirming his value as the 31st-most expensive midfielder available.

Ross Barkley, at (£9.6m): Barkley has yet to replicate the form he displayed during his breakout 2015/16 campaign, but he is showing signs of improvement. The powerful midfielder has been one of the Toffees' most highly-rated players in each of the last three home matches, and he scored against West Ham in Gameweek 10. Swansea have allowed three goals in each of their last two away matches and should present an excellent opportunity for Barkley to put up some big fantasy points.

Philippe Coutinho, at (£16.4m): Coutinho is one of the most in-form players in world football at the moment, with two goals to go along with three assists in his last three league matches, and he scored a tremendous goal versus Argentina in World Cup qualifying last week. He is the only Premier League player with at least five goals and five assists through 11 games and should offer unrivaled upside at the midfield position this week against Southampton.

FORWARD

Charlie Austin, v. (£9.0m): Austin is in the midst of his most productive stretch since moving to Southampton, with five goals and an assist in his last seven league appearances. Liverpool have conceded 10 goals in just six away matches and should present Austin with his share of chances due to their wide-open attack-minded style of play.

Harry Kane, v. (£10.8m): Kane returned from a six-week absence to score his side's only goal in the North London derby in Gameweek 11. He was sent home from the English national team in order to train over the break and should be fully fit as he draws a matchup with a West Ham defensive unit that ranks 17th in the league in goals allowed.

Romelu Lukaku, at (£11.9m): Lukaku was unable to find his way onto the scoresheet against Chelsea in Gameweek 11, ending a streak that saw him bag seven goals and provide three assists in a seven-match span. Swansea have allowed 16 goals in their last seven and seem like a long shot to contain the prolific striker as they travel to Goodison Park, where he has three goals and two assists in his last three appearances.
