Milwaukee Brewers vs. Atlanta Braves: Joey Ortiz to record over 0.5 hits, -115 @ bet365
Ortiz has recorded at least one hit in five of his previous six games, a span in which he's slashing .409/.458/.545 with a 1.004 OPS with three multi-hit performances. The Brewers have been nearly unstoppable in recent weeks and currently have the best record in the majors. The strong play of players such as Ortiz at the dish has been a big reason why Milwaukee has surpassed the Cubs at the top of the NL Central. Even though Ortiz isn't the one expected to carry the Brew Crew offensively, the fact that he's hit safely in five of his last six suggests he's left his cold stretch at the end of July behind. He went 0-for-15 between July 25 and July 29 against the Marlins and Cubs. On the season. Ortiz has hit .220 with a .591 OPS, but it's undeniable that he's going through one of his most prolific stretches of his career..

Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox: Dustin May to record over 4.5 strikeouts, +125 @ bet365
May is one of several hurlers who changed teams before the deadline. The 27-year-old right-hander went from Los Angeles to Boston, so he'll get a chance for a fresh start with the AL East giants. May's numbers haven't been all that impressive, as he's gone 6-7 with a 4.85 ERA across 19 appearances (18 starts) this season. However, one thing that hasn't changed is his ability to miss bats. He's punched out at least four in each of his last three starts. He recorded five Ks in his most recent outing -- ironically, a July 27 start at Boston. May will aim to begin his Red Sox tenure on a strong note, and if he's able to miss bats regularly, as his 8.4 K/9 suggests, then he could lead the Red Sox to a solid win at Fenway Park. May has fanned five or more in three of his last six starts, including a nine-strikeout performance against the White Sox on July 3.

San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks: Nestor Cortes to earn the win, +200 @ bet365
Cortes will make his debut for the Padres after being acquired by San Diego before the trade deadline from the Brewers. The former All-Star hurler made two starts for Milwaukee before going down with a left elbow flexor strain, but he's ready to return to the mound after making four rehab starts in the minors. Cortes' numbers aren't impressive (1-1, 9.00 ERA), but he's a gamble that might pay off for a San Diego team that was very aggressive before the deadline. Considering that the Diamondbacks parted ways with two of their best hitters in Eugenio Suarez and Josh Naylor, they're not as threatening on offense as they were earlier in the year. Cortes is itching to get back on the mound, and it wouldn't be surprising if he flashes his old form and starts his San Diego tenure with a win.
