I'm focusing on one game in each circuit for the evening portion of today's slate, banking on the Yankees making good on their favorite status and backing the idea of a pitcher's duel out west in Arizona in the nightcap.

Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees Best Bets
The Yankees are unsurprisingly comfortable home favorites for this late-season clash against a White Sox team now on the precipice of 100 losses. New York is particularly incentivized during this final week, considering they're just a game back of the Blue Jays in the AL East with five games left to play for both clubs.
Ace Max Fried takes the hill for the Bronx Bombers and does so boasting an 18-5 record, 2.92 ERA and 1.11 WHIP overall, and even better 2.46 and 1.07 figures in those respective pair of latter categories at home. The left-hander has also done an excellent job keeping the ball in Yankee Stadium (0.4 HR/9) and is facing a White Sox squad that has just a .256 wOBA against lefties on the road in the last month of play.
Meanwhile, Yankees hitters will get a crack at young southpaw Fraser Ellard to open the game before he's followed by fellow left-hander Tyler Alexander. Ellard has had considerable control issues during his two big-league stints thus far (28 walks issued in 40 innings), while Alexander has pitched to a 5.13 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 50 appearances between the Brewers and White Sox.
The Yankees have had issues with left-handed pitching at home in the second half of the season, but I think they still have enough to have a lead of at least one run after five behind Fried, especially considering New York's current hitters boast a collective .286 average and .916 OPS against Alexander across 78 career PAs.
Then, with Judge owning a .500 average in 10 career encounters with Alexander and sporting a 1.144 OPS and .451 wOBA against left-handed pitching at Yankee Stadium, I like his chances of accruing at least two total bases.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks Best Bets
The visiting Dodgers check in as road favorites in this NL West clash that sees Los Angeles try to hold on to its thin 1.5-game lead in the division over the Padres and the D-Backs stay alive for a wild-card spot. There's potential for a pitcher's duel as long as the two starters are in the game, considering the body of work of Blake Snell and Ryne Nelson, both over the course of the season and against the opposing lineup.
Snell is coming off back-to-back shutouts of the Rockies and Phillies where he's recorded 23 strikeouts across just 13 innings. The talented left-hander has been better at Dodger Stadium than on the road, but his away numbers are skewed by one difficult outing against the Pirates at PNC Park.
Meanwhile, Nelson has been good throughout the season and especially effective at home, where he carries a 5-1 record, 2.58 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 0.7 HR/9 into Wednesday's start. The veteran righty has thrown seven total innings across a start and relief appearances versus the Dodgers this season, allowing just one earned run on three hits in that span.
The Diamondbacks have frequently been effective against left-handed pitching at home in the second half of the season, but Snell has held current Arizona hitters to a collective .217 average in 103 career encounters. Meanwhile, Nelson has limited current Dodgers bats to a .200 average in 89 career plate appearances, and he's also pitched at least 5.2 innings in 13 of 22 starts while coming just an out short on two other occasions.
Given the factors cited and Snell's 10.9 K/9 overall, I like an SGP that banks on him getting to at least seven Ks and the scoring in the first five to be kept to six runs or less while also backing Nelson to put together another outing of solid length.
