Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday-Wednesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday-Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Guards

Chris Paul, HOU vs. GS ($35): Paul is absolutely on fire right now and it's baffling to see his price sit at just $35. Not only has he scored at least 35 fantasy points in si straight games, Paul is averaging 47 fantasy points per game in that span. He's owned the Warriors this season too, averaging 48 fantasy points per game in four outings against them. That's significantly better than what Stephen Curry is doing right now and we get to use Paul at $5 cheaper.

Kyle Korver, CLE at BOS ($11): It's hard to get excited about any Cleveland player after that nightmare Game 1, but Korver is quite the bargain on Yahoo. Not only has Korver played at least 23 minutes in nine straight games, he's scored at least 16 fantasy points in all but two of those fixtures. That's nothing special, but it's a huge floor from an $11 player. His upside has been great too, as he scored at least 23 fantasy points in five of those outings.

Guard to Avoid

Eric Gordon, HOU vs. GS ($20): Gordon has been too inconsistent to trust for DFS purposes, as he's mixed gems with duds all season long. What's really killing him is the fact that James Harden and Chris Paul are hogging much of the usage, combining for a 64.2 usage rate in these playoffs. That leaves very little for anyone else, as Gordon has failed to crack 17 fantasy points in eight of his last 13 games. In addition, Gordon is averaging fewer than 15 fantasy points per game in his last three outings, as he's struggling mightily without the ball in his hands. Not to mention, Golden State owns the best defensive efficiency rating of any team in these playoffs.

Forwards

Al Horford, BOS vs. CLE ($30): Not only does Horford have at least 32 fantasy points in 14 of his last 15 games, but he is approaching 40 fantasy points per game in that span. It should be no surprise when considering the matchup, as Cleveland has struggled defensively throughout the season. That's also evident by the fact that Horford is averaging nearly 30 fantasy points per game in four meetings with the Cavs this season.

Marcus Morris, BOS vs. CLE ($20): Morris has been selected to start in this series to oppose LeBron James and Game 1 is pointing to him having a huge series in this expanded role. Morris had 32 fantasy points in 34 minutes, all while serving as the primary defender on James. He's been a fantasy points-per minute player this season and this huge opportunity is too much to pass up for a $20 player.

Forward to Avoid

Trevor Ariza, HOU vs. GS ($12): Ariza battled foul trouble in an ugly Game 1, as it continued a disappointing stretch dating back to the regular season. Ariza hasn't taken more than eight shots in six straight games, and he is becoming nonexistent in an offense run strictly through Harden and Paul. The lack of usage really shows in his fantasy production, as he has 12 or fewer fantasy points in five of his last six games.

Center

Draymond Green, GS at HOU ($34): Green has been one of the best all-around players in these playoffs, and he's flirting with triple-doubles every time he steps on the floor. Green is averaging 48 fantasy points per game in his last nine outings, and he's played at least 36 minutes in four straight fixtures.

Center to Avoid

Clint Capela, HOU vs. GS ($35): Capela has been a freak in these playoffs but matching up with the Warriors is a nightmare task for any center. Not only does Golden State own the best defensive rating in these playoffs, but they allowed the fewest fantasy points in the league to opposing centers in the regular season. That was evident by the fact that Capela averaged less than 29 fantasy points per game in three games against them in the regular season.
