DFS College Basketball: Monday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Monday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Monday's three-game slate on DraftKings features six relatively low-profile programs, and there are no Power Five teams involved. While last Monday's slate featured some curiously low salaries, DFS players will have to work harder to find value this Monday. As always, a rundown of spreads and expected totals is included below:

Top Players

Tosan Evbuomwan, F, Princeton ($6,100 DK)

On a slate that doesn't feature many top-tier salaries, Evbuomwan's $6,100 salary comes in among the top tier of players. The junior has returned to the starting lineup in each of the last five games and has scored in double figures in each of those appearances while generating strong production in rebounds and assists. Across those five games, he averaged 17.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 27.4 minutes per contest. While Evbuomwan was held to a single-digit scoring total in his last appearance, his fantasy results have remained consistent due to his well-rounded production.

Ethan Wright, G, Princeton ($6,300 DK)

Wright has also been productive on the scoreboard for the Tigers early in the season, and he's posted four double-doubles in his first 11 appearances of the season. Although he's scored in double figures in two of his last three games, he's had some issues with efficiency during that time and has converted just 12.5 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. While his recent struggles from beyond the arc are slightly discouraging, he's maintained relatively consistent fantasy output and is coming off a 22-point performance against Lafayette.

Middle Tier

Jordan Lathon, G/F, Wisconsin-Milwaukee ($5,500 DK)

Lathon has been part of the starting lineup in five of the last six games, and he posted a season-high 14 points in Friday's loss to Colorado. The junior's playing time has remained slightly inconsistent across the last several contests, but he's been a reliable fantasy contributor due to his well-rounded production. Although Lathon has shot just 32.6 percent from the floor across the last six games, he's averaged 5.5 rebounds per game across that span. While Rhode Island is relatively proficient defensively, the Rams aren't particularly effective on the boards, which could allow Lathon to have a high rebound total once again Monday.

Ryan Langborg, F, Princeton ($5,200 DK)

Sticking with Princeton, Langborg has joined the starting lineup in five of the last six games and has had at least 30 minutes of playing time in five of those appearances. He was held to just eight points in Saturday's win over Lafayette, but he's averaged 13.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per game across the last six contests. His usage hasn't been as consistent as some of Princeton's other starters, but he's displayed the potential to provide 4x or 5x value at his current DFS salary.

Ishmael Leggett, G/F, Rhode Island ($5,000 DK)

Leggett has started each of the first 10 games of the season and had inconsistent production early on. However, he's now scored in double figures in three of the last four games. During that time, he's averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 30.8 minutes per contest while shooting 52.8 percent from the floor. Leggett has a mid-tier DFS salary given his shaky results earlier in the season and carries some risk if he can't maintain his efficiency Monday, but he's been able to generate some more consistency in recent contest and could provide strong value against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Value Plays

Willie Guy, G, North Dakota State ($3,000 DK)

Guy has reverted to a bench role in each of the last two games and has been limited to just three points in each of those appearances. While his scoring output has been limited, he's displayed the potential to be a well-rounded contributor for the Bison. Although the sophomore has been inconsistent this season, he's logged double-digit fantasy points on DraftKings in three of his last six appearances. Monday's slate features limited value plays, so Guy is a decent option for DFS players looking to focus more on top-tier players.

Sebastian Thomas, G/F, Rhode Island ($3,200 DK)

Thomas had a minimal role for the Rams early in the season, but he's now played at least 13 minutes in each of his last four appearances. While he hasn't had stellar output in any given category, his well-rounded results have allowed him to post double-digit fantasy points in three of the last four games. At his current salary, the freshman would have provided at least 3x value in each of his last four outings. As long as his playing time remains consistent against Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Monday, Thomas has the potential to be a solid value play.
