DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Four top-25 teams are in action for the final Wednesday of the College Basketball regular season, with a massive 12-game DraftKings slate and nine games on FanDuel. DraftKings features their $15 Pull Up Jumper contest with $3,000 to first, while FanDuel headlines the $9 All-American contest and a $1,000 top payout.

Top Players

JD Notae, G, Arkansas ($8,200 DK, $7,800 FD)

In the marquee game of the night, I expect Arkansas to continue to rely heavily on their best player in order to get past LSU. Notae has stepped up to the challenge against the toughest of opponents this season with 28 points against Auburn and most recently 30 against Kentucky. He also played well in the team's first meeting at LSU, scoring 19 on over 50 percent shooting. Notae is rarely coming off the court, as Arkansas is using a 6-7 man rotation.

Fatts Russell, G, Maryland ($7,000 DK)

Russell has emerged as the Terrapins' best player late in the season, averaging a whopping 22.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists over the last six games. There's little reason to think that he won't be able to keep the momentum going against Minnesota tonight, a team that ranks second-to-last in the Big Ten in defensive efficiency. Even with Eric Ayala back and playing well, Russell still dropped 27 points Sunday against Ohio State.

Middle Tier

David Jones, F, DePaul ($6,900 DK, $7,700 FD)

Jones looks to be one of the best values on DraftKings tonight, getting an $800 discount compared to FanDuel. He's been priced over $8,000 for most of the year before an ankle injury forced him to only play three minutes against Creighton and then missed the next two games. Jones has massive upside, recording a pair of 50+ fantasy point games over his last four full outings, making him a must-play on the slate.

Geo Baker, G, Rutgers ($5,500 DK, $5,600 FD)

Baker makes for a good target at a slightly below-average salary as the team's second scoring option behind Ron Harper. He was priced as high as $7,000 less than three weeks ago and gets a salary drop after a few inefficient games, as Rutgers went through the toughest part of its schedule. Baker should be able to bounce back in a matchup against Indiana, a team that has been better at defending the paint.

Values

Caleb Grill, G, Iowa St. ($4,500 DK, $4,000 FD)

Grill has seen increased playing time in each of the last three games and is coming off an 18-point performance against Kansas St. The three-point specialist is shooting 38 percent from long-range, and he gets a good matchup against an Oklahoma State squad that has struggled to defend the perimeter and allowed the Cyclones to make 12 threes in their first meeting.

Noah Gurley, F, Alabama ($4,300 DK, $4,300 FD)

Gurley is expected to return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench for senior night Saturday, and he posted back-to-back games in double figures previously. This is Alabama's first meeting with Texas A&M this season, but it figures to be a good one for its frontcourt, as the Aggies play a small lineup and will have matchup problems with Gurley's size. He's also been contributing on the defensive end with a block in six straight games.
