FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel College Basketball series.

The last Saturday of the regular season is upon us. FanDuel's early slate features 14 games which tip between noon and 2:30 p.m. EST. For a change, it's a slate not dominated strictly by ACC teams, as only three games come from that conference. Here's a few names who could exceed their price:

Guards

Shembari Phillips, TENN vs. MISSP ($5,500): Phillips has seized his opportunities late in the season, averaging 16.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game over his last four, all while playing at least 32 minutes. There's little to no indication that either Kevin Punter or Robert Hubbs is likely to return for the weekend, and assuming that holds, Phillips would teeter on "must own" status with this low price tag.

Traci Carter , MRQTT at BUTLR ($5,600): Carter's season averages will likely scare off any casual players, as he's posted 5.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game in 30 appearances. But he's had 17 assists in his last two games and has at least five dimes in five of his last seven, leading to at least 17.6 fantasy points in all but one of those outings. Carter has topped 34 minutes in consecutive outings, and in his last meeting with Butler, he finished with 15 points, three boards and four assists in only 21 minutes.

Jevon Carter, WSTVA at BAYLR ($4,900): Carter comes with a very limited ceiling, but his floor isn't as close to rock bottom as his price, and for that, he looks like a good option if you're enticed by some of the higher priced options he'll allow you to buy. Carter has at least 10.6 fantasy points in 10 straight games and is coming off a 22.7-fantasy-point outing against Texas Tech, and he dished out eight assists in an earlier meeting against the Bears.

Others to consider: Myke Henry, DPAUL vs. STNHL ($6,200); Isaiah Zierden, CREIG at XAV ($4,800); Jalyn Patterson, LSU at KTCKY ($4,600)

Forwards

Caleb Martin, NCSTA at NDAME ($6,600): Martin comes with plenty of bust potential at this price, but he's alternated games with 30+ fantasy points over his last six outings and is coming off of a 21.9-fantasy-point game against Boston College, which suggests he's again due to post a bounce back performance. Martin has scored in double-digits in four straight and in six of his last eight, keeping his floor from bottoming out. If he can crash the glass, there can be some appeal.

Tyler Davis, TEXAM vs. VANDB ($6,100): Davis plays fewer minutes than his higher-priced frontcourt teammates Jalen Jones and Danuel House, but he has been the most efficient of late. Davis has scored between 19.9 and 28.4 fantasy points in each of his last five outings, posting one double-double and falling one rebound short of a second, all while playing 29 minutes or less. If you're a believer in history repeating itself, Davis isn't for you, as he had six points and three rebounds in 25 minutes against Vandy on Feb. 4, but his recent play suggests a better game is in store.

Khadeem Lattin, OKLA at TCU ($5,000): This play won't be for the faint of heart. Lattin is averaging 19.0 fantasy points per game, but he has hit that number just twice in his last 10 games while laboring to three games with 6.4 fantasy points or less in that stretch. He's also sprinkled in a 40.6-fantasy-point outburst against West Virginia. There's much more risk than reward here, but Lattin is the type of player who could surprise in a matchup that seems taylor made for some production for secondary Sooners in a likely blowout. Lattin had 10 points, three rebounds, two steals and three blocks in just 15 minutes against TCU in a prior meeting.

Others to consider: Admiral Schofield, TENN vs. MISSP ($4,900); Marcus Derrickson, GTOWN at VLLNV ($5,100); Beejay Anya, NCSTA at NDAME ($5,100); Marc Loving, OHSTA at MCHST ($6,700)
