College Football Player Prop Picks 2025
Week 1 of the College Football season is here, so it's time to lock in some last-minute season-long player props.
With a quick look through RotoWire's Picks tool, I've identified several massive gaps between pick'em sites that we can exploit. Add in historical performance and projections, and it's easy to find which picks to invest in.
QB Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
The addition of Dana Holgorsen to the Cornhuskers coaching staff late last season should prove to be a huge move for Raiola's development. In four games with Holgorsen as play-caller, the quarterback didn't put up gaudy numbers, but he found consistency as he completed 71.7% of his passes and accumulated at least 190 yards passing in each game after averaging just 174 yards in the previous four games.
Top wide receiver transfers Dane Key and Nyziah Hunter should be suitable replacements for Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor. Jacory Barney led the team in receptions in 2024 and will look to build on that successful freshman season, while Emmett Johnson could lead all running backs in the nation in receiving yards.
The pieces are in place for Raiola to take a leap this season. He finished with 2,595 passing yards in an up and down freshman year. With a year of experience, plus improved coaching and weapons, RotoWire projects 3,136 passing yards for the second-year QB -- well above the 2799.5 line posted at Underdog and significantly over the number posted at PrizePicks.
CFB PrizePicks Pick: Dylan Raiola MORE than 2,600.5 passing yards
QB Luke Altmyer, Illinois
In 2024, Altmyer finished with over 2,500 regular season passing yards, but he relied heavily on WR Pat Bryant, who will be playing on Sundays for the Denver Broncos this year. Second-leading receiver Zakhari Franklin is also gone, as the Illini will be trying to replace the two receivers' 1,600 yards of production.
Transfer Hudson Clement is the only receiver on the roster who has contributed over 500 yards in a season, and he has reportedly had an up and down offseason. It seems very unlikely that he'll repeat the 741-yard effort that he had at West Virginia last year.
Look for Illinois to lean on the run game with Aidan Laughery and Kaden Feagin expected to share the backfield.
CFB Underdog Pick: Luke Altmyer LESS than 2,424.5 passing yards
RB James Peoples, Ohio State
The last time that Ohio State failed to produce a 700-yard running back was in 2011 when quarterback Braxton Miller led the team in rushing, and running back Daniel Herron finished with 678. Since then, the leading running back for the Buckeyes has averaged over 1,282 rushing yards per season.
Peoples figures to supply the speed for this season's new one-two backfield punch with West Virginia transfer CJ Donaldson, as they look to replace a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. We're projecting that Peoples will have the slight edge in total carries, and both players will exceed this total. Again, we're finding the best value at PrizePicks, as Underdog has the line listed at 749.5 yards.
CFB PrizePicks Pick: James Peoples MORE than 699.5 rushing yards
WR Antonio Williams, Clemson
Clemson is loaded at wide receiver with Antonio Williams, T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco Jr. all returning. All three were elite recruits coming out of high school and all were immediate contributors as freshmen. Williams was the veteran third-year player who led the team in targets last season, but with a year of experience under their belts, Moore and Wesco are just as likely to emerge as the lead receiver.
Williams finished with 788 yards in 12 regular season games in 2024. We're projecting a nearly even split among the three this season with each player finishing around 800 yards.
For this prop, we're finding the best value on Underdog.
CFB Underdog Pick: Antonio Williams LESS than 899.5 receiving yards
