Jayden Daniels
2020 Fantasy Outlook
It’s not easing being a starting quarterback as a true freshman, but don’t tell that to Daniels. Sure, maybe he got overshadowed by Sam Howell at North Carolina, but the Sun Devils have no complaints about Daniels’ play. While they didn’t really take the reins off him, it’s impressive how well Daniels protected the ball given his limited experiences. He may have only thrown 17 passing touchdowns, but he was also only picked off twice. Having a year of experience under his belt will definitely help him, but will he miss having Brandon Aiyuk around as a safety valve? Still, Daniels will be expected to cross the 20-touchdown platform as a sophomore, or risk being considered a disappointment. Read Past Outlooks
Named Sun Bowl MVP
January 1, 2020
Daniels completed 12 of 28 passes for 195 yards and ran the ball 12 times for 36 yards and a successful two-point conversion in the Sun Bowl against Florida State on Tuesday
Daniels was named Sun Bowl MVP for his effort. Overall, it was not the most impressive outing the freshman turned in this season, but he was working without his top running back and top receiver in the game, as they both chose to sit out in order to prepare for the NFL draft. He finishes his first collegiate campaign with 2,943 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding 355 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
