India vs. West Indies: Second ODI Preview

India travel to Trinidad to take on West Indies in the second ODI of the series at the Port of Spain. The first match was washed out by rain and frustration was visible on the face of the players and the fans alike. The ground staff tried their best to make the ground ready every time the rain stopped but it kept returning and played spoilsport.

However, both teams are focusing on the second game now. India whitewashed West Indies in the T20I series and they would be aiming for something similar this time as well. The hosts, on the other hand, would be looking for an improved performance. Their World Cup campaign was quite disappointing and there are a lot of things that they need to sort out. West Indies have the talent and potential in their squad but it is just the temperament that the players need to work on.

Weather and Pitch Conditions: It rained in Trinidad on Saturday but there is no such forecast for Sunday. The weather is expected to be bright and sunny. The pitch at Trinidad is good for batting in the first innings but generally slows down as the match progresses. Middling scores of around 250-275 can be expected.

The West Indies' skipper is a very good all-rounder who is capable of scoring both with bat and ball. He is one of those Caribbean players whom you can trust blindly to score.

Bowler: Sheldon Cottrell (9 Cr)

The left-arm pacer had an excellent T20I series against India during which he claimed four wickets from three matches. He was their highest wicket-taker during the World Cup as well and, hence, you can bank on him to pick up wickets in this match as well.
