South Africa vs. Pakistan: Second T20I Preview

South Africa and Pakistan are ready to face off in the second T20I of the three-match series in Johannesburg on Sunday. The home side will go into the match full of confidence after securing a nail-biting six-run win in the series opener in Cape Town on Friday. The Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg will be used as the venue for the match, which will be hosting its 25th T20I. Highest team score of 260-6 at the ground in the 20-over format was registered by Sri Lanka in the match against Kenya during the 2007 edition of the ICC World T20, whereas the lowest team score of 83 was registered by Bangladesh in the match against Sri Lanka.

However, the Proteas will face a stiffer challenge against a resurgent Pakistan side as they will be playing without regular captain Faf du Plessis, who has been rested for the remaining matches of the series. In Du Plessis' absence, the team will be relying on the likes of captain David Miller and in-from Reeza Handricks to score bulk of the runs in the batting department, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo and Tabraiz Shamsi to provide timely breakthroughs.

On the other hand, the Men in Green will enter the contest high on confidence despite defeat in Cape Town as the team put a great fight and fell just six runs short. In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes

On the other hand, the Men in Green will enter the contest high on confidence despite defeat in Cape Town as the team put a great fight and fell just six runs short. In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes of in-form Babar Azam and captain Shoaib Malik to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan and Usman Khan Shiwari to provide timely breakthroughs. There might be one change in the final eleven for the match on Sunday, as veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is likely to take part in place of the left-handed batsman Hussain Talat.

Key Players:

Shoaib Malik – 9 Cr

First in the list of key players features Pakistan's Shoaib Malik. The veteran all-rounder is in more than decent form with the bat and played a solid innings of 49 runs in the series opener, but could not take his team over the line. Therefore, Malik, who is valued at 9 Cr, might not prove to be a bad choice for your team for the match on Sunday.

Imad Wasim – 8.5 Cr

Second in the list of key players features Pakistan's Imad Wasim. The left-arm spinner was the best bowler on show in the first T20I, where he only managed to claim a single wicket but away just 23 runs in four overs. Those figures suggest that Wasim, who is valued at 8.5 Cr, might prove to be a great pick for your team.

Andile Phehlukwayo – 9 Cr

Last in the list of key players features South Africa's Andile Phehlukwayo. The right-arm pacer had an excellent outing in the series opener where he finished with the figures of one for 27. The most impressive aspect of Phehlukwayo's spell was the fact that he bowled intelligently and used the change of pace to good effect, which is why he is the player to have in your team.
