Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Stars will clash in the game three of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2018-19 season in Canberra on Friday. Both teams will be eager to start their new campaign on a high after a disappointing run in the previous editions. In the 2017-18 season, Thunders finished on the sixth spot, whereas Stars finished last with just two wins out of 10.

In the batting department, the home side will be depending on captain Shane Watson, experienced Callum Ferguson, Jos Buttler and Joe Root to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Gurinder Sindhu, Fawad Ahmed and Chris Jordan to provide timely breakthroughs.

On the other hand, Stars will be banking on captain Glenn Maxwell in the batting department as it looks a weaken unit with the departure of Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright and with the injury of Nic Maddinson, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Adam Zampa, Jackson Bird and Liam Plunkett to provide timely breakthroughs. In the last five clashes between both sides, Thunders came out on top on four occasions, whereas Stars just emerged victorious once.

Key Players:

Glenn Maxwell – 9.5 Cr

First in the list of key players features Melbourne Stars' Glenn Maxwell. The 30-year-old is a seasoned campaigner in T20 leagues all over the world and has the ability to turn the game upside down in the matter of few minutes with the bat in hand. That was not it as Maxwell can also turn out to be a tricky customer with the ball in hand. Therefore, Maxwell, who is valued at 9.5 Cr, is the player to have in your team for the match on Friday. Maxwell has played in 223 T20 matches, scoring 4,718 runs to his name at an average of 25.22 and strike-rate of 154.89, which also included two hundreds and 23 half-centuries.

Adam Zampa – 9 Cr

Second in the list of key players features Melbourne Stars' Adam Zampa. The right-arm leggie is an intelligent bowler and showed his class with the ball in hand in the recently concluded T20I series against India, where the Men in Blue's batsmen found it hard to score quickly off his bowling. Therefore, Zampa, who is valued at 9 Cr, might prove to be an excellent purchase for your team. Zampa has played 100 T20 matches, claiming 97 wickets at an average of 21.65 and an impressive economy-rate of 7.24.

Gurinder Sindhu – 8.5 Cr

Last in the list of key players features Sydney Thunders' Gurinder Sindhu. The 25-year-old is long associated with the franchise and is one of their most seasoned campaigner. In his last match where he represented Tasmania U23 team in the match against Victoria U23, claiming eight wickets. Therefore, Sindhu, who is valued at 8.5 Cr, might prove to be a good purchase for your team in the match on Friday. Sindhu has played in 35 T20s with 32 wickets to his name.
