2024 Fantasy Outlook
As a rookie in 2022, Tolbert was a hot name in the preseason. He followed that up by catching two passes for 12 yards all season. Last year, Tolbert saw his role increase. The receiver frequently played between 23 and 30 snaps. Tolbert was also targeted between three and five times in seven games. Despite seeing opportunity, he ended the season with 268 yards. With Michael Gallup no longer with the team, Tolbert could become an every-down player. It’s reasonable to predict a third-year breakout for the receiver. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Career-best performance in loss
Tolbert caught six of nine targets for 82 yards in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
The third-year wideout led the Cowboys in targets on the afternoon, and his receptions and yardage were both career highs. Tolbert had a quiet performance in the team's opener, but his usage Sunday dwarfed Brandin Cooks, who saw only two targets, and is a good sign that the 2022 third-round pick could be headed for a breakout campaign. Tolbert will attempt to build on this effort in Week 3 against the Ravens.

Week 2 was memorably brutal for injuries, but it wasn't all bad news for fantasy thanks to some young WRs getting elite usage and taking advantage. Jerry Donabedian has the scoop on everything Week 2.
Amon-Ra St. Brown will likely torch a thin Buccaneers secondary playing without its star enforcer in Antoine Winfield.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
A 2022 third-round pick out of South Alabama, Tolbert was viewed as a raw prospect whose skills needed to catch up to his athleticism. That didn't happen in his rookie season, as, despite the early season absence of Michael Gallup, Tolbert didn't play in the first two games and fell out of the wideout rotation for good after Week 12. Gallup will be further removed from his knee injury this year, and the Cowboys traded for Brandin Cooks in the offseason, so there's no clear path to a regular role for Tolbert in 2023 even if he does take a step forward in his development.

Dazzles on Day 1
Tolbert made a spectacular red-zone catch on the first day of training camp practices Thursday, and quarterback Dak Prescott is expecting a breakout campaign from the wideout, Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com reports. "He's worked all offseason and he's gonna make another jump from year two to year three as he did from one to two," Prescott said after practice. "Super proud of him and everything he's done. Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could see heavy usage early
With Brandin Cooks still not practicing due to a knee injury and CeeDee Lamb ramping up his activity after holding out of training camp, Tolbert could be called on to take on a larger role in the passing game early in the regular season.
ANALYSIS
Tolbert didn't play in any of Dallas' preseason contests, but he was one of the standout players early in training camp and took advantage of his first-team reps due to Lamb's absence. If Cooks were to be held out of the Cowboys' regular-season opener against the Browns, Tolbert would be in position to see more targets in the passing game from quarterback Dak Prescott. Across 17 regular-season games last season, Tolbert caught 22 passes on 36 targets for 268 yards and two touchdowns.
