Tournament Preview

The European Tour gets a look at a new course this week. The Hero Indian Open will be played for the first time at DLF G&CC in New Delhi on the newly opened, Gary Player-designed course. The Gary Player Course will prove challenging in many ways. It is undulating and long, with many deep bunkers, elevation changes and blinded shots. This will be a tournament contested with the mind as much as the club, many holes give multiple options of play. The course invites golfers to play shots toward the bunkers and water to have a better approach to the sloping greens.

This is the premier tournament in India, and we would expect to see a good showing from the locals, despite this being a new venue for all. That said, the Gary Player Course at DLF is considerably longer with more play options than the Delhi Golf Club of past years. This should heighten the European tour players chances. Length off the tee and accuracy, with so much trouble lurking, will be key to coming out on top.

DraftKings Picks

Rafael Cabrera-Bello - $10,900 (10/1)

Cabrera-Bello continues his solid form but is still looking for a win this season. He is the highest ranked player in the field at 26 in OWGR. Cabrera-Bello hasn't missed a cut in more than a year. He is long enough off the tee, averaging 286 and is hitting 80 percent of greens in regulation. Expect Rafael to compete fiercely and challenge on Sunday.

Peter Uihlein - $10,200 (15/1)

Uihlein has good recent form, finishing fourth last week at the Tshwane Open. Prior to that the American played solid with a T5 and T34 last month in stroke play. He is long off the tee, averaging more than 309 yards this year. His accuracy can be questionable at times, but his 68 percent GIR and top-notch putting bail him out. He is trending in the right direction and seems poised for another top finish.

Jorge Campillo - $9,600 (25/1)

Campillo has had quite a run. He hasn't missed a cut in his last 11 starts. He finished T2 at the Tshwane Open last week with all four rounds in the 60s. Jorge has found more distance off the tee this year, now averaging more than 300 yards. His GIR is solid at 71 percent. He has played well in India, and there's no reason why this should change given his recent form.

Romain Langasque - $9,500 (30/1)

Langasque has been consistent all season, he hasn't missed a cut since July last year. Most recently his form has improved even more with a T18 at Tshwane and a T11 at Joburg. His driving is long, averaging more than 308 yards, and he is playing well with his irons, hitting 75 percent GIR. Langasque is a young player still looking for his first win on tour and appears to be headed that way.

Gregory Havret - $7,000 (60/1)

Havret is worth taking a serious look at. His recent form has come along nicely, with a T15 last week at Tshwane and 11th at Maybank. He clearly checks all the boxes we are looking for. He is more than 70 percent in driving accuracy and is hitting the ball 293 yards on average. His GIR is good, as it has been over his career at 71 percent. He has not won in some time, but it seems his time may be coming again soon given his play recently.

Gaganjeet Bhullar - $7,300 (60/1)

Bhullar is a local who has played well this year. He came in T28 last time out at World Super 6 Perth and finished T20 at Maybank. He is another player who has all the right stats for this course. Bhullar averages 291 yards off the tee, hitting 83 percent of fairways. His GIR is more than 74 percent. I expect great play from the local in this event.
