Dream11 Fantasy KBO: Eagles at Heroes

This article is part of our Dream11 Fantasy KBO series.

Hanwha Eagles (21-57-1) at Kiwoom Heroes (49-34)

Thursday, August 13th, 5:30 AM EDT

Projected Starters

LHP Joo Hong Park (0-0, 6.75 ERA) vs RHP Jake Brigham (1-2, 4.91 ERA)

Game Preview

The Heroes have posted a 7-1 mark against the Eagles this season and that alone should make them strong favorites to earn another win, but their body of work throughout the season should also boost their chances of getting a good result. The Heroes are in second place of the standings with a 49-34 record and are one of two teams that is yet to tie a contest in the current KBO season. Meanwhile, the Eagles are already thinking about next season due to their 21-57-1 record and are the only franchise in the league that's yet to reach the 25-win plateau. The pitching matchup features a righty for the Heroes – Jake Brigham – and a lefty for the Eagles – Joo Hong Park. Brigham has been the pitcher this season and, as if that wasn't enough, he also has the support of a strong Kiwoom offense. That should be enough to list him as the strongest pitching alternative.

Injuries

Hanwha Eagles

Jin Ho Jung - Out - Knee

7/13 10:21 PM IST - Jung was removed from Hanwha's roster Monday due to a left knee injury, according to chosun.com. Jung was having a good month of July, going 10-for-25 (.400) over 10 games, but he will now miss some time as a result of his

Injuries

Hanwha Eagles

Jin Ho Jung - Out - Knee

7/13 10:21 PM IST - Jung was removed from Hanwha's roster Monday due to a left knee injury, according to chosun.com. Jung was having a good month of July, going 10-for-25 (.400) over 10 games, but he will now miss some time as a result of his injury. It remains to be seen when he will be ready to rejoin the Eagles' roster.

Bum Soo Kim - Out - Hip

7/30 10:03 PM IST - Kim was removed from the Eagles' roster Thursday due to a hip injury, according to OSEN. It's not yet clear how long Kim will be sidelined, but he has a history of hip issues, so it's possible he could miss some time. Kim is scheduled to meet with a specialist Monday, and a timeline for his recovery should be determined after that.

Ee Whan Kim - Out - Not Injury Related

6/8 12:54 PM IST - Kim was removed from Hanwha's first-team entry Monday, Young Eun Bae of Daily Sports Backstroke reports. The 19-year-old Kim got off to a good start this season, but he did not make it out of the fourth inning in each of his last four outings, so he will pitch for Hanwha's second team for the time being.

Seong Yul Lee - Out - Not Injury Related

7/4 11:50 PM IST - Lee was removed from the Eagles roster Friday, according to koreadaily.com. Lee has not been able to get it going at the plate this season, so he will try to find his swing in the Futures League for the second time in the last few weeks.

Sang Won Park - Out - Not Injury Related

7/28 3:01 PM IST - Park was removed from the Hanwha first team Tuesday, Su Jin Park of Star News reports. The Eagles added Ho Sol Yoon to the bullpen before Tuesday's game against Samsung. Park has struggled for Hanwha in 2020, posting a 5.64 ERA over 30.1 innings through 32 games.

Kwang Min Song - 10-Day IL - Shoulder

7/8 10:48 PM IST - Song was placed on the injured list Wednesday with a shoulder injury, according to chosun.com. Song does not appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but he will need at least a few days to rest and recover, so Hanwha decided to place him on the injured list and free up a roster spot.

Kiwoom Heroes

Eric Jokisch - 10-Day IL - Shoulder

8/10 4:16 PM IST - Jokisch was placed on the injured list Monday with a left shoulder injury, per mydaily.co.kr. The southpaw reportedly complained of discomfort after completing six innings in Saturday's game against LG. Jokisch underwent an MRI, which revealed a bruise near his left shoulder. He is most likely to miss Friday's scheduled start against Lotte and return at some point next week.

Tae Hoon Kim - Out - Undisclosed

8/6 9:52 PM IST - Kim will miss a couple weeks with a midsection injury, Su Jin Park of Star News reports. Kim has been one of the Heroes' top relieves this season, but Kiwoom will be without his services until he puts the injury behind him.

Byung Wook Lim - 10-Day IL - Hamstring

7/22 2:22 AM IST - Lim is still dealing with inflammation in his right hamstring and remains without a clear timeline to rejoin the Heroes' active roster, Soo-Jin Park of the Money Today Star News reports. When Lim went down with the injury in the second game of a doubleheader with the Twins on May 16, the Heroes projected him to miss 6-to-8 weeks. That timeline was evidently too conservative, as the outfielder is not yet ready to even begin a rehab assignment in the Futures League some two months later. Prior to going down with the injury, Lim had appeared in 11 games for the Heroes, hitting .278 with three stolen bases and six RBI.

Sung Hyun Moon - Out - Elbow

7/31 3:15 AM IST - Moon hasn't pitched for the Heroes since July 16 due to inflammation in his right elbow, Soo-jin Park of the Money Today Star News reports. Moon is expected to rest up for a few more days before starting a throwing program. The 29-year-old is expected to fill a bullpen role for the Heroes once healthy after posting a 4.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB over 15 innings prior to being shut down.

Dong Won Park - 10-Day IL - Back

8/11 2:39 PM IST - Park was placed on the injured list Tuesday with a back injury, Kyung Yoon Kim of the Yonhap News Agency reports. The catcher is entering Kiwoom's IL for the second time in 30 days. Park recently missed a handful of starts without explanation and his back injury may explain why that has been the case. He is currently batting .277 across 67 games.
