Benoit on tap June 13
May 24, 2020
Nam and Ryan Benoit agreed to a flyweight bout at UFC's June 13 event, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
The event specifics have yet to be announced, but it's expected to take place at UFC's Apex facility in Las Vegas. Nam has struggled in his first two appearances in the promotion, losing to both Kai Kara-France and Sergio Pettis via unanimous decision. Benoit has alternated wins and losses in UFC and is coming off a split-decision loss to Heili Alateng in December.

Gets blanked on scorecards
February 22, 2020
Nam lost to Kai Kara-France via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night 168 in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday.
Nam was noticeably able to hurt his opponent whenever he landed. Those moments came far too infrequently, however, which allowed Kara-France to control the pace of the fight as the more agile, technical fighter. It's hard to say where that leaves Nam's UFC career. He's coming off his second straight defeat and doesn't seem to have much to offer besides pressure and power. That has seldom been enough to be successful in the flyweight division. Nam falls to 18-11-1 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
Gets another opportunity
December 26, 2019
Nam will face Kai Kara-France in a flyweight matchup at UFC Auckland on Feb. 23, MMAJunkie.com reports.
Nam was disappointing in his UFC debut, losing to Sergio Pettis via unanimous decision at UFC Mexico City in September as he stepped in on short notice. However, the 36-year-old will get another chance with the promotion given his journey to get to the UFC along with the fact that he faced a difficult opponent in his debut. Kara-France's eight-fight winning streak was snapped when he lost to Brandon Moreno via unanimous decision at UFC 245 on Dec. 14. Kara-France has struggled against tougher competition despite showing good power in his hands. Nam carries a slight height advantage.
Drops long-awaited UFC debut
September 21, 2019
Nam lost to Sergio Pettis via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
Nam was unable to get much going in his long-awaited UFC debut. The soon-to-be 36-year-old consistently got off second in the striking exchanges between the two men, and that led to his downfall given the fact nearly the entire bout was spent on the feet. Nam made a concerted effort to try and pick up the pace late in a fight he knew he was clearly losing, but it made no difference. Given how hard Nam worked to get in this position and the fact he faced a strong opponent in his debut, it seems quite likely he will be given another opportunity with the company. He deserves it.

Nam (19-9-1) is scheduled to face Sergio Pettis (17-5-0) in a flyweight fight Sept. 21 at UFC Mexico City, KHON 2 Honolulu reports.
Set to turn 36 years old in October, Nam will be making his UFC debut in Mexico after reeling off seven wins in his last eight fights. He'll step in as a short-notice replacement for Alex Perez, who was forced to withdraw due to an injury.
