Set to fight Maness
Maksum will fight Nate Maness at UFC Vegas 85 on Feb. 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Maksum survived his UFC debut versus Tyson Nam to remain a perfect 17-0 in his career as a professional fighter, but he'll need to be sharper in order to defeat Maness, who has had far more UFC success than Maksum's previous opponent.

Lucky to survive UFC debut
Maksum defeated Tyson Nam via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 49 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Maksum got the victory he was seeking in his UFC debut, but all things considered, this was a pretty underwhelming performance as a massive -400 favorite. He was consistently outworked by Nam on the feet, landing just 46 total strikes compared to 98 from his opponent. Maksum did connect on two takedowns, which must have counted for something in the eyes of two of the three judges. In short, Maksum was lucky he emerged victorious. Undefeated in 17 professional bouts, the 28-year-old Kazakhstan native will need to be better his next time out.

Making UFC debut in July
Maksum will take on Tyson Nam at the UFC event on July 15, Team Iridium Sports Agency reports.
ANALYSIS
Maksum will be making his UFC debut after going a perfect 16-0 throughout his MMA career. Nam is a fighter who has shown potential at times in the UFC, but is coming off a submission loss earlier this year.
