Draws Kape in Tampa
Silva will take on Manel Kape in a flyweight matchup at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva is inching closer to the flyweight title picture following four consecutive wins, but he's due for a tougher test, and Kape is it. Although Kape is coming off a lost, he did have a four-fight winning streak of his own prior to that, and he didn't take a high degree of damage in that defeat. A win here would earn Silva a top-10 spot in the division's rankings.

Finds stoppage after brutal start
Silva defeated Cody Durden via TKO (punches) at 2:58 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The victory aside, it's difficult to envision a scenario in which Silva could have looked worse. He was dominated by Durden in every single aspect of this fight prior to the finish. He lazily left his neck exposed and had to fight off submission attempts. He also was able to get nothing going on the feet the vast majority of the fight. But as the old saying goes, better late than never. Silva, who has real power for the flyweight division, popped Durden with an uppercut that sent him tumbling to the mat. He immediately jumped on top and fired off follow-up strikes until referee Chris Tognoni had seen enough. Silva has now won four in a row on the heels of a two-fight losing streak to begin his UFC run, and he'll walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.

Fight vs. Durden called off
Silva won't fight Cody Durden at UFC Vegas 79 after Durden failed to gain medical clearance, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Dorff notes there won't be a replacement added to the card for Durden, effectively canceling the fight. Silva was looking to get back in the win column after dropping his last bout to Brendan Allen at UFC on ABC 5 via submission.
