Third straight stoppage win
Silva defeated Tyson Nam via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:23 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was another stellar performance from Silva, who has really found his groove following a slow start to his UFC run. His striking was on full display early in this one. He got the better of Nam in Round 1 before blasting him with a front kick to the face early in Round 2. He eventually transitioned to the rear-naked choke which put Nam out cold. The slick submission would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. The soon-to-be 33-year-old Brazilian has now picked up three straight stoppage victories on the heels of a three-fight winless streak (0-2, 1NC) to begin his time with the company.
