April 29, 2022
Menifield will take on Askar Mozharov on the June 4 card, Alex Behunin of Cageside Press reports.
Menifield has been out since early December while recovering from a knee injury but appears to be in good enough shape to retake the Octagon in June. It was originally reported that Menifield would take on Nicolae Negumeranu on that date, but that fight was ultimately scrapped in favor of the current one. Menifield is aiming to bounce back from a loss to William Knight and takes on a fighter making his UFC debut in Mozharov

Light HeavyweightUFC
December 7, 2021

Not enough output Saturday
Light HeavyweightUFC
December 6, 2021
Menifield lost to William Knight via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 44 on Saturday.
In a fight few expected to see the final bell, Menifield got off to a slow start with just six significant strikes landed in Round 1. He picked up the pace for a 30 to 17 edge in the second frame and likely tied things up, but he faded in a final round that had referee Herb Dean calling for more action. While he did have the final edge in total control time, a total of 44 significant strikes wasn't enough to get the job done in what was a close fight. He's now lost back-to-back fights and is 2-4 in his last six overall.

Menifield will take on William Knight on a light heavyweight event scheduled for Dec. 4 in Las Vegas, according to Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.
This bout between Menifield and Knight has been a late addition to the Dec. 4 card of UFC Vegas 44, and Menifield will try to extend his two-fight winning streak after he topped Ed Herman via unanimous decision earlier this year in August.
Powerful leg kicks lead to win
Light HeavyweightUFC
August 7, 2021
Menifield defeated Ed Herman via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 265 on Saturday in Houston.
Typically a fighter who likes to end the proceedings early, this was the first decision victory of Menifield's career. He picked up the win on the strength of some vicious leg kicks. He made a point to target Herman's lead limb from the very start, and the strikes essentially left his opponent immobile by the end of Round 2. Menifield easily could have earned the stoppage following a huge sequence along the fence in the middle frame, but Herman somehow managed to survive. Menifield possesses explosive, high-end power, and he's coming along in terms of learning how to pick his spots a bit better. The 33-year-old has won back-to-back fights on the heels of a two-fight losing streak.
Draws Herman at UFC 265
Light HeavyweightUFC
July 29, 2021
Menifield will take on Ed Herman in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC 265 on August 7, Farah Hannoun of USA Today reports.
Menifield recently bounced back from a two-fight losing streak to get a submission victory over Fabio Cherant in March. He'll now take on a storied veteran in the 40-year-old Herman, who happens to find himself on a three-fight winning streak of his own. The striking output numbers are nearly identical between the two men, though Herman has much more of an offensive wrestling game to rely on. Menifield is seven years younger, however, and will play the role of the up-and-comer the promotion is looking to push.
