Best WNBA Bets Today: Tuesday, August 19
Washington Mystics -5.5 versus Connecticut Sun (-115)
BetMGM, 11:00 a.m. CT
Steve Bulanda: Connecticut has been historically bad on the road. The Sun haven't won a road game since May 30th. Since then, they have been outscored by an average of 21.3 points per game as the visiting team. During that 13-game road losing streak -- which includes a 37-point (!!) loss at Washington -- only one loss has been by fewer than 8 points.
Despite dealing away leading scorer Brittney Sykes at the trade deadline, Washington has been playing well, winning 3 of its past 4 games with rookies Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen leading the way. Since the Sykes trade, Citron is averaging 19.5 points, while Iriafen is adding nearly 16 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Sabrina Ionescu under 17.5 points (-115) versus Minnesota Lynx
DraftKings Sportsbook, 11:05 a.m. CT
Kirien Sprecher: Ionescu has eclipsed this mark only once in her last six games, scoring 18 points in Las Vegas on Aug 13. That stretch includes two games against the Lynx. Ionescu scored 13 points in Minnesota on Saturday and 10 points in a home game against the Lynx on Aug. 10. During those contests, she shot a combined 9-for-31 from the field.
Kamilla Cardoso under 9.5 rebounds (-125) versus Seattle Storm
DraftKings Sportsbook, 11:15 a.m. CT
Kirien Sprecher: After eight straight games with double-digit rebounds, Cardoso has surpassed this mark only once in her last four appearances. Seattle has one of the best frontcourts in the league, which will make life difficult for Cardoso, and she could also see a drop in production if Angel Reese (back) is cleared to return following a seven-game absence.
A'ja Wilson to score 25+ points (+100) and grab 12+ rebounds (-110)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 11:20 a.m. CT
Kirien Sprecher: After flirting with .500 all season, Wilson and the Aces have finally found their groove, winning seven straight. Over her last six appearances, the three-time MVP has scored at least 27 points five times, averaging 28.2 points per game during that stretch. Over her last five appearances, Wilson has grabbed at least 12 rebounds four times, averaging 13.2 boards per game during that stretch. If she continues playing like this, Wilson might make a case for MVP No. 4. She currently has the third-lowest odds (+550), behind Napheesa Collier (-225) and Alyssa Thomas (+350)
