Year Two of the Caitlin Clark experience is officially over, with the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year being ruled out for the rest of the league year with a groin injury that's kept her off the court since July 15.

In total, Clark played in 13 games for the Indiana Fever, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game on 36.7% shooting while accumulating 0.4 win shares in those contests.

With Clark's injury, RotoWire.com wanted to see where the reigning league Rookie of the Year stands when it comes to missed games and win shares, year-over-year, judging both categories against each of the ROYs since 2010.

Where Does Clark Stand in Recent WNBA History?

Clark's injury-ravaged sophomore season is a downer for women's basketball fans in general.

In fact, Clark's year-over-year drop off in win shares (-2.6) is the second largest gulf from rookie to sophomore seasons among the last 15 WNBA Rookies of the Year, behind Elena Delle Donne in 2013, who lost 3.8 win shares and 14 games played from 2013 to 2014.

Clark does hold the distinction of missing the most games between her rookie and sophomore season among those 15 players, though, with the former Iowa star sitting out 27 games (and counting) this season, with three regular season contests left for the Fever in 2025.

Overall, those 27 games missed were 13 more than the next closest ROY (Delle Donne), while 2019 winner Napheesa Collier sat out 12 more games in her second year as a professional than she did in her first season. Clark will miss 30 regular season tilts when the 2025 campaign is said and done.

Where Clark's Teammates Stand

While Clark's season is officially over, the 2025 WNBA Commissioner's Cup champs still have a lot to play for, with the Fever sitting in eighth place leaguewide with three games left.

As of now, the Fever would be the final team in the 2025 WNBA Playoffs, squaring off against the top seeded Minnesota Lynx in the first round, though Indiana's gap is down to 1.5 games over the Los Angeles Sparks, who are 19-21 (.475) this season and the only team left in postseason contention that's on the outside looking in at the eight-team bracket right now.

For now, Indiana enters the home stretch of the sport's regular season looking at the second longest WNBA championship odds of any team that's left standing on bet365, at +15000, sitting ahead of the lowly Sparks (+50000) and behind the expansion Golden State Valkyries, who are listed at +10000.
