FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards

Tyreke Evans, MEM at GS ($8,600): There aren't many guards playing at the level of Evans right now. With Mike Conley still sidelined, Evans is playing some of the best ball of his career, as he's averaging over 34 fantasy points for the season, while scoring at least 43 fantasy points in four straight games. Golden State is a good matchup for Evans considering it plays at the fifth-fastest pace in the league.

Ish Smith, DET vs. SAN ($6,000): Smith is in a similar situation to Evans, as he's taken over starting point guard duties in Detroit after Reggie Jackson went down with a Grade 3 ankle sprain. In his first start in place of Jackson, Smith dropped 39 fantasy points in 32 minutes of action. San Antonio is a tough defense, but they are relatively weak at the point guard position, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Rodney Hood, UTA vs. CLE ($5,500): Hood has become one of the go-to scorers in Utah, as he consistently leads the team in shot attempts off the bench. What really makes him an intriguing option is his upside, as he's scored at least 38 fantasy points in three of his last six games. That's a monster game from a $5,500 player and it could come again in a matchup like this. Hood faces a Cavaliers defense that ranks 27th in both defensive efficiency and fantasy points allowed to opposing shooting guards.

Forwards

Ben Simmons, PHI at DEN ($8,700): A common strategy in DFS contests is to buy low and sell high. That's just what we're doing here with Simmons, as he's his lowest price since the opening weeks of the season. The rookie has struggled of late, but there's plenty of reason to see why he could exceed value Saturday. With Joel Embiid resting, Simmons will be tasked with taking on a larger share of the offensive burden, and he faces a Nuggets defense that allows the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards, Simmons' true position,

Dario Saric, PHI at DEN ($6,500): Saric is another beneficiary of Embiid sitting out, as he's averaging over 30 fantasy points per game when Embiid sits, and his role and shot attempts rise exponentially. Saric has also been great with Embiid in the lineup of late, and he's posted an average of 33 fantasy point across his last 14 games. That's incredible value for a player with a sub-$7,000 price tag.

Centers

Andre Drummond, DET vs. SAN ($9,700): Drummond has really taken his game to another level this season, and the Pistons will need him more than ever over the next two months with Jackson out. After a relatively disappointing 2016-17 campaign, Drummond is averaging 43 fantasy points per game for the season. San Antonio traditionally struggles against big men like Drummond, and he averaged 16 points, 16 rebounds, one steal and two blocks per game in two outings against the Spurs last year.

Richaun Holmes, PHI at DEN ($4,000): This is a risky play with Holmes seemingly out of the rotation, but he should be asked to play a bigger role with Embiid sitting this game out. Holmes is the one who usually fills in as the backup center, and he averages more than a fantasy point per minute, That's the goal with a dart throw like this, as he could provide monster value if he gets the minutes. That's why it's worth taking a risk at $4,000, as he's one of the only players on the slate with the capability of hitting 10X value.
