FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

This is another split schedule that makes for multiple DFS options. There are three games starting at either 2:00 or 3:00 EST, another at 6 EST, then another trio starting after 9:00 EST. FanDuel broke that down into three game sets: an early set (the 2:00 – 3:00 EST start times), a main set (the 6:00 and later games) and an all-day option. There aren't many games available for all-day, there are a bit more for the early, but most (and the highest value) games are in the main set. This article will focus mainly on those main games, though we'll include at least one recommended play from the early games for every position.

James Harden, HOU at BRO ($11,800): Harden is the prize here, taking his video-game fantasy scoring to Brooklyn to face a Nets defense that ranks last in the NBA in production allowed to opposing point guards and next-to-last against opposing shooting guards in the FanDuel scoring system.

Main – Mike Conley, MEM vs HI ($7200): Conley has maintained a reasonable price tag despite averaging 20.4 points, 9.6 assists, 4.6 boards and 1.4 steals over his last five games. On Sunday he faces a Bulls defense that is last in the NBA at defending opposing point guards over the last ten games in the FanDuel scoring system.

Early – Tim Hardaway Jr., ATL vs MIL ($4700): Hardaway has averaged 18.2 points, 3.2 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.3 combined steals/blocks over his last six games. Another guard to keep an eye on in the early games is Ricky Rubio, who has averaged 15.3 assists over his last three games, all of them points/assists double-doubles.

Early – Carmelo Anthony, NY at TOR ($8100): Anthony has to carry a bigger load with Kristaps Porzingis presumed out. Over the last two games he has averaged 25.5 points, 5.5 boards, 3.5 assists and 2.0 combined steals/blocks with only one turnover per.

Zach Randolph, MEM vs CHI ($6000): Randolph is still not playing huge minutes, but has been extremely efficient this last week with averages of 17.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in only 28 minutes per over the last four games. The Bulls' frontcourt is not intimidating or particularly stout, which means that Z-Bo should be able to get to his spots and play his brand of bully-ball Sunday.

Andre Roberson, OKC at SAC ($3900): Roberson is a defensive specialist that makes for usable DFS production. Over his last five games, he has averaged 10.2 points, 6.0 boards, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals. His Sunday opponent has struggled of late with a ranking of 25th in production allowed to opposing small forwards over the last five games.

Early – Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN at DAL ($10,100): Towns has been strong all season, but he's been particularly monstrous of late with averages of 28.7 points, 15.3 boards, 3.3 assists, 3.0 blocks and 1.3 steals over his past three games.

Andre Drummond, DET at LAL ($7900): Drummond has been rebounding and playing defense at a very high level of late, averaging 13.8 boards and 5.3 combined steals and blocks over the last four games. He has a chance to put a nice offensive number on the board as well against a Lakers defense Sunday that is last in the NBA in defense against opposing centers over the last five games.

Steven Adams, OKC at SAC ($5800): Adams has found his groove as a pick-and-roll option with Russell Westbrook, and is doing a good job making his presence felt in the paint on both offense and defense. Over his last six games he has averaged 13.3 points, 7.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals. His Sunday opponent, the Kings, ranks 25th in the NBA in production allowed to opposing centers over the last 10 games.
