Mavs Hang On For Road Win
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the host San Antonio Spurs, 109-108, at AT&T Center on Wednesday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start and was tied at 28, after one quarter. The competitive action continued through the second, where the Mavs outscored the hosts by one, to take a, 59-58, lead into halftime. They kept up the fight in the third, and the Spurs managed to pull ahead with a two-point lead heading into the final frame. The contest went back-and-forth right down to the wire, where the Mavs were able to grind out the road win, while this marks the second straight loss for the Spurs.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Mavericks with 31 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, in 36 minutes. Luka Doncic tallied 23 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals, while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 23 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. The Mavericks shot 43 percent from the field, including 8-of-34 from deep.

Meanwhile, Dejounte Murray led the Spurs with 23 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block, in 34 minutes. Devin Vassell followed up with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while Derrick White added 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. The Spurs shot 49 percent from the field, including 7-of-21 from long range.


The Spurs (2-6) will look to bounce back as they take on the Magic in Orlando on Friday. The Mavs (5-3) play host to the Celtics on Saturday.
