Warriors Defeat Mavericks in Game 5, 120-110, Advance to NBA Finals
The Golden State Warriors defeated the visiting Dallas Mavericks, 120-110, in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals at Chase Center on Thursday.

Golden State wins the series, 4-1. They'll advance to the NBA Finals which begin next week. They'll play the winner of the Miami-Boston series, with the Celtics up 3-2 in that series.

In this clinching Game 5, the Warriors won in wire-to-wire fashion. They got out to a 28-23 lead after the first quarter and carried a 17-point lead into the half behind a 41-29 second quarter. Golden State got their lead up to 25 points at times, leading by at least eight points for the final 30 minutes of play. The Warriors shot 51 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line while holding the Mavericks to 45 percent from the field and 76 percent from the charity stripe. Golden State out-rebounded Dallas, 51-34, while outscoring them in the paint, 50-32.

The Mavericks (1-4) were led by Luka Doncic, tallying 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Dorian Finney-Smith amassed 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jalen Brunson had 10 points, two rebounds and four assists. Spencer Dinwiddie led the bench with 26 points, four assists and two blocks.

The Warriors (4-1) were led by Klay Thompson, collecting 32 points, two rebounds and three assists. Andrew Wiggins accrued 18 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Stephen Curry compiled 15 points, three rebounds and nine assists. Draymond Green generated 17 points, six rebounds and nine assists, while Kevon Looney provided 10 points, 18 rebounds and four assists. Jordan Poole led the bench with 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals.
