Sorare NBA: Upgrade, Hold, and Downgrade, Gameweek 2
One NBA game can only tell you so much, but one NBA can tell you something. The 2025-26 NBA season has only just begun. We've learned more about how the NBA on NBC will look and how the Inside the NBA team will operate in the world of ESPN than we have learned about the teams and the players.
From a Sorare NBA perspective, though, if you can grab something from a single outing, or a couple of outings, that can set you up quite well. There is speculation and extrapolation here in my upgrade, hold, and downgrade for this week. Now is the time for speculating, though, so let's get to it.
All Sorare NBA values as of October 27 at 6 p.m. ET.
Upgrade
Austin Reaves, LAL ($56.22): There is a lot of Sorare activity vis-à-vis Reaves, which makes sense when you are a Laker. A Laker who scored 51 points in a game that yielded 86.7 Sorare points at that. It was only one game, but it was a game where LeBron James and Luka Doncic were out. It seems clear that the Lakers are looking for Reaves to be a proper number-three option, but there will be many days when LeBron or Luka will be out, and he will be looked at as a real, legit number-two option. On occasion, as in that 51-point outing, he will be treated like a guy who deserves to be the focal point of an NBA offense. That kind of trust and belief goes a long way in the NBA, and scoring 51 points in October merits enthusiasm.
Hold
Brandon Ingram, TOR ($43.07): Ingram joined the Raptors last season, but owing to an injury, he never played a minute. Now, Ingram is healthy, and what does he look like as a member of Toronto? Well, so far, he looks like the guy he was in New Orleans. The assists are a bit down and the rebounds are a little up over three games, but the 22.3 points per game is right in line with expectations. Over the prior four seasons, he's averaged 22.6 points per game. The Sorare points have been solid, but through three games, he seems like the same guy he's always been, so he's holding steady.
Downgrade
Joel Embiid, PHI ($41.92): Yeah, no, it's over. Embiid is now tertiary to the NBA landscape. It's a shame, because injuries are responsible, but he just doesn't seem to have it. He played exactly 20 minutes in the first two games of the season for the 76ers and couldn't crack 30.0 Sorare points. Then, he sat out Monday to rest his knee. Embiid is not the first guy to have what could have been a stellar career derailed by injury, and unfortunately, he won't be the last. It's hard to imagine him playing more than 50 games if I'm being charitable, and at best, he's going to play 25 minutes a night.
