CFL Betting: CFL Bets and Parlays for Week 19
With it being Thanksgiving Weekend in Canada, we're treated to a Monday holiday game this week in addition to the usual Saturday doubleheader. We'll remain focused on Saturday's matchups, however, as both games carry playoff implications for the four teams involved.
Read on for a look at which Week 19 CFL betting scenarios catch my eye on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Calgary Stampeders at Hamilton Tiger-Cats (Saturday, Oct. 11, 3:00 p.m ET)
The Tiger-Cats have already sewn up a postseason spot, but they're still looking to lock up the East Division crown and hold off the Alouettes, who enter Week 19 two games back with three games to play. Montreal doesn't play until Monday afternoon and is near two-touchdown favorite over the eliminated Redblacks at home, so Hamilton will have to be striving for a win here and avoid a slip-up like the one they suffered against the Blue Bombers in Week 17, where they took an embarrassing 40-3 loss.
The Ti-Cats did bounce back in Week 18 with a big 47-29 thumping of the Argonauts, a game where Bo Levi Mitchell tossed four touchdown passes and eclipsed the 300-yard mark. Hamilton's deep array of skill-position weapons remain healthy, and one of them, do-it-all running back Greg Bell, is playing his best stretch of football in the last few weeks. Bell has recorded between 76 and 156 rushing yards in the last five games, and he has multiple catches in every contest this season.
Bell enters Saturday just 87 yards away from his first 1,000-yard season as a pro, and he's facing a Stamps defense that is allowing a CFL-high 112.2 rushing yards per game at a co-league-high 5.6 yards per carry. Bell has hovered around or exceeded the 50-yard mark on the ground in the majority of his games this season, so making that one component of a same-game parlay that also banks on a relatively high-scoring affair is certainly a viable path to consider.
Calgary will undoubtedly be competing intensely in this key game for its postseason aspirations, and the Tiger-Cats defense has allowed 27.8 points per game along with the third-most offensive touchdowns (39). While Hamilton is also very capable of disrupting drives with its pass rush and ability to create turnovers, this game has a projected total of 56.5 points, so bringing that down by a full six points gives us a number that should have a great chance of being eclipsed.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Edmonton Elks (Saturday, Oct. 11, 7:00 p.m. ET
The Bombers and Elks are two of those teams that are still trying to punch a postseason ticket, making this an especially intriguing late-season matchup. The Bombers are 8-7 and will get in if they simply stack up at least another couple of wins, and one in this matchup would also essentially seal the Elks' fate if Calgary can also finish out the campaign strong.
The Bombers have had an atypical season record-wise but still have an impressive +30 point differential coming into this contest. However, Winnipeg has been much better at home, sporting just a 3-5 mark on the road. The Bombers did prevail in the one prior meeting between the clubs back in Week 4 in Winnipeg, recording a 36-23 victory in which Zach Collaros was near perfect while completing 25 of 30 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns.
Brady Oliveira was not available for that game, making the Bombers' victory all the more impressive, although the Elks were still rolling with the Tre Ford experiment at quarterback at the time. Cody Fajardo has since taken over and helped keep the 6-9 Elks fighting hard every week, while also playing a part in their 4-3 mark at home. Fajardo comes in running hot down the stretch, having thrown for 280 and 305 yards in his last two games and posting a 5:0 TD:INT in the last four overall.
The Elks are also coming off a bye and pulled a big upset against the Roughriders at home their last time on the field in Week 17, a game that was preceded by razor-thin losses of two and one point to the Tiger-Cats and Argonauts, respectively. As those results indicate, Edmonton has generally been a tough out with Fajardo under center.
With so much on the line Saturday and the home setting, I'm looking to capitalize on a same-game parlay that gives the hosts four additional points of cushion over the standard 3.5-point spread and also banks on a solid day for Fajardo against a Bombers defense that's allowed 281.3 passing yards per game and the third-most completions of 30+ yards (26).
