24th Match Preview: Sydney Thunder vs. Brisbane Heat

Sydney Thunder faced a big defeat against Melbourne Stars in their previous game and will be eager to return to winning ways when they take on Brisbane Heat in the 24th game of the BBL. The side has six points from six games and with four other teams on as many points, Sydney will be eager to get away from the ruckus with a triumph at home. The side has fielded the same XI in their previous two matches, and though they did lose their previous match, they are expected to play the same team again.

The Brisbane Heat on the other hand had gotten off to a disastrous start with three successive defeats in their first three games of the season. They finally got off the mark with a convincing five-wicket win over Perth Scorchers in their previous game. With one win and three losses from four games, they are seventh in the rankings with two points. They had a stellar last game as they restricted the Scorchers to only 135 runs in their quota of overs, and are unlikely to change their line-up.

He has smashed his runs at a strike-rate of 137.43 and with three fifties, including a high score of 89, to his name, the Englishman remains the player to watch out for.

Batsman: Chris Lynn (11 credits)

With Brendon McCullum in woeful form, the onus will be on Chris Lynn to get his team off to a flier once again. The skipper is the side's leading run-getter at the moment with 179 runs that have come at an average of 44.75. Though Lynn has a strike-rate of only 122.60 in the edition so far, he is one of the most dangerous players on his day, possessing a destructive strike-rate of 142.95 in 139 T20s.

All-rounder: Daniel Sams (9.5 credits)

Sams has a strike-rate of 170.88 in 6 innings so far and is one of the most crucial members for the Thunder in the middle overs. He is also the side's highest wicket-taker with nine scalps at a bowling average of 19.66 and has been the most consistent member across both departments.

Bowler: Mujeeb Ur Rahman (9 credits)

Mujeeb will be the key man for Brisbane in the bowling department. Though he has picked up only four wickets so far, he has been economical, conceding runs at only 5.56 runs in four games. The Afghan spinner will be high on confidence after a brilliant showing against the Perth Scorchers, where he had picked up two wickets for 10 runs in his quota of overs.

Captain: Jos Buttler

Vice-captain: Daniel Sams
