Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka: ICC World Cup Match 16 Preview

Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have managed to get only one win on the board in the World Cup thus far, and will look to improve their standings when they face each other on Tuesday. The Bangladesh unit have fared well in this edition and have impressed with their fighting spirit, despite losing two games. The Lankans have been poor in the batting department and the loss of Nuwan Pradeep to injury will weaken their bowling even more. They lack quality in their side, and their experienced players have been inconsistent, which adds to the woes of the unit. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have a more settled bowling and batting attack, which is why they are the firm favourites for this match.

However, rain has been hampering games in this World Cup, and could affect tomorrow's match as well. There are 90% chances of a downpour, and with Sri Lanka already being at the other end of an abandoned game, they will hope that the rain stays away.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Mushfiqur Rahim (10 credits)

Rahim has been among the runs in this Cricket World Cup and is a good player to include in the your fantasy team. He scored 78 and 44 against two higher ranked sides—South Africa and England—and will be eager to cash in against an inconsistent bowling attack as well.

Batsman: Dimuth Karunaratne (9.5 credits)

The Sri Lankan team will want a solid batter who can stay put at the crease and help

Batsman: Dimuth Karunaratne (9.5 credits)

The Sri Lankan team will want a solid batter who can stay put at the crease and help the side in stiff conditions. Karunaratne, who has helped his side to cross the line in various Test matches, has the skills to anchor an innings even in overcast conditions where the ball might swing. With players like Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera yet to fire, it only increases the pressure on the Lankan skipper.

All-rounder: Shakib Al Hasan (10 credits)

Shakib is central to Bangladesh's success in the team, and he will have a huge role to play with both bat and ball. He is currently the number 1 ODI all-rounder in the world. He displayed what he is capable of with all-round performances in the first two games. He followed up his knock of 75 against South Africa with 1 for 50 with the ball. Against the Kiwis, he scored 64 and then took two for 47 with the ball as well. He scored a hundred against the English team, and with 260 runs currently, tops the batting charts in the ongoing World Cup.

Bowler: Mohammad Saifuddin (8.5 credits)

Saifuddin has been the pick of the bowlers in this World Cup from Bangladesh with six wickets in three games so far. He can get the ball to swing and varies his pace according to situations as well, which makes him a real threat, especially if the conditions will be overcast.

Captain: Shakib Al Hasan

Vice-captain: Dimuth Karunaratne

Predicted Playing XI:

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza (c), Mustafizur Rahman

Sri Lanka: Dimuth Karunaratne (c), Kusal Perera (wk), Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis, Isuru Udana, Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Malinga
