After acing the 5-match ODI series by a comprehensive 4-1 margin, India now have their sights firmly set on lifting the T20I series Trophy as well. The first of the three match series will be played at Wellington on Wednesday and the Kiwis will be eager to avenge their ODI series loss by all means. Statistically, the Kiwis have a mental edge over India as they have won six out of their total eight meetings in T20Is.

Moreover, two out of those eight matches have been played in New Zealand and the Kiwis have won on both occasions. So, they will look to draw inspiration from their superior record in order to come good against a strong Indian attack. India, on the other hand, will look to ride on their winning momentum and make a clean sweep of this tour.

Weather and Pitch conditions: Overcast conditions. The pitch will play on the slower side as seen in the final ODI. A score of 140-150 would be par.
