New Zealand have their eyes on making a comeback into the series as they lock horns with the visiting India A side in the second Unofficial ODI of the three match series at Mount Maunganui. The first match of the series saw the India A side registering a thrilling four-wicket victory over the home side. Fifties from Vijay Shankar and Shreyas Iyer and valuable contributions from Manish Pandey and Shubman Gill helped them in chasing down a tricky target of 309 runs.
It was a bitter experience for the hosts as fifties from Hamish Rutherford, Tim Seifert and James Neesham went in vain. It was their bowlers who couldn't hold on to their nerves in the final overs and hence allowed the Indian batsmen easy runs. But they would like to mend their mistakes this time around.

Although his knock went in vain and his counterpart Ishan Kishan also played a good knock of 47 runs off 43 deliveries, Seifert should be the preferred batsman here as he has home advantage to his side.
Batsman: Shreyas Iyer (9.5 Cr)
The Indian batsman set the base for an Indian victory in the last match with a superb knock of 54 after walking out to bat at No 3. The openers were back into the hut in quick succession and India A were reduced to 73 for 3. But Iyer steadied the ship with a run-a-ball innings and kept them in the hunt.
All-Rounder: James Neesham (10Cr)
The 28-year old starred with both bat and ball in the last match but couldn't lead his side to victory unfortunately. First, he played a swashbuckling knock of 79 runs off just 48 deliveries and then came back to take 1 for 40 in a spell of 8 overs. If he gets same amount of batting time and bowls similar number of overs in the next match, points will rain once again.
Bowler: Siddharth Kaul (9 Cr)
Kaul was expensive during his initial overs in the last match but he came back well and ended up with bowling figures of 2 for 74 in 10 overs. If bowling conditions are a little favourable this time, his figures will read much better.
