Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Kings XI Punjab: 48th IPL Match Preview

Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns with Kings XI Punjab in the match 48 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Hyderabad on Monday. The game is expected to be a feisty contest as both teams are clearly in the hunt to qualify for the playoffs after having 10 points each with only three more games to play. Therefore, a win will take either side a step closer to cementing their place in the next round. In the previous match between both teams earlier in the competition, it was Punjab who came out on top with a six-wicket margin.

The home side will enter the contest low on confidence after suffering a seven-wicket defeat in their previous match against Rajasthan Royals. In the batting department, Hyderabad will be relying on the likes of in-form Australia's David Warner, captain Kane Williamson and young Manish Pandey to score bulk of the runs, whereas on the bowling front, the onus will be on likes of Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar to provide timely breakthroughs.

On the other hand, Punjab will also come in the match a little shaken as they suffered a 17-run defeat in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes of in-form West Indies explosive opener Chris Gayle, wicketkeeper-batsman Lokesh Rahul and young Mayank Agarwal to score bulk of the runs, whereas on the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of

Pitch Conditions: Pitch at the venue has not proven to be a great one for batting off late where in the last three matches, only once a team managed to score in excess of 150 while batting first. Therefore, it will come as no surprise if the captain winning the toss will opt to field first.
