It was a busy week leading up to Week 6 in the IDP fantasy football world and that continued on game day. Trade season has officially kicked off, injuries continue to mount, and teams continue to reassess roles. We'll break it all down in this week's IDP risers and fallers.

Risers

Germaine Pratt

Pratt was a faller last weekend after surprisingly being let go by the Raiders, but he quickly found a new home with the Colts. He immediately played 79 percent of snaps alongside Zaire Franklin, piling up 11 tackles. Franklin also had one of his better games of the season, the linebacker corps could finally get some consistency in Indy.

Nick Emmanwori

The Seahawks' secondary was beat up for its Week 6 win over the Jaguars, which allowed Nick Emmanwori to get the best opportunity of his rookie season. Seattle took advantage of his versatility, as Emmanwori saw most of his playing time in the slot in the absence of Riq Woolen, rather than at his more traditional position at safety. That should give him the chance to stay on the field more regularly, even as the Seahawks' secondary returns to health.

Barrett Carter

Carter was a fourth-round pick for the Bengals in the 2025 draft, and his selection was a bit curious given that the team had already selected Demetrius Knight. However, he was still a solid prospect after serving in a key role in the middle of Clemson's defense. Now, he's getting a chance with the Bengals, as the team made the surprising move to bench Logan Wilson in favor of Carter. Carter went on to play 100 percent of defensive snaps and record 10 tackles, and should have a secure role for the rest of the season.

Ji'Ayir Brown

The 49ers need to mix and match on offense due to injury has been well-documented, but their defense is undergoing some significant shifts as well. We'll cover the unfortunate injury to Fred Warner shortly, but San Francisco also welcomed back Malik Mustapha, who had been sidelined by a significant knee injury. In perhaps an unrelated move, Jason Pinnock was benched in favor of Brown to start alongside Marques Sigle. Mustapha is likely to take over for Brown in the coming weeks as he ramps back up to full strength, but Brown could carry some fantasy IDP value in the short term.

K.J. Britt and Kyle Dugger

Britt and Dugger are two vets who signed into a reserve role or lost their starting jobs to begin the season, but had a chance to step up in Week 6. Britt benefited from the absence of Tyrel Dodson (concussion), playing 95 percent of defensive snaps while racking up 13 tackles.

Dugger filled in for Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring), logging 100 percent of defensive snaps after having a previous season high of 51 percent. He only had three tackles, but any safety playing 100 percent of defensive snaps should at least be on fantasy IDP radars.

Dugger and Britt are grouped together because their rise could be short-lived, as they'll almost certainly will head back to return roles as soon as Dodson and Hawkins return to health.

Elijah Molden

The Chargers traded away Alohi Gilman midweek, opening playing time in what was previously a crowded safety corps for the Chargers. Molden was the beneficiary, playing 93 percent of defensive snaps – a season-high mark – while racking up six tackles. He should be in a good position to maintain that role for the rest of the season.

Fallers

Fred Warner

I've lamented the tough season for many of the top projected linebackers entering the season. Warner was delivering, as he had recorded a minimum of eight tackles in all five of his games entering Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. However, he suffered a dislocated ankle early in the contest and is out for the season. Tatum Bethune stepped into Warner's role and went on to tally 10 total tackles. Bethune was a seventh-round pick out of Florida State in 2024 and played a lot of football with the Seminoles. He doesn't have elite athleticism, but he should have enough snaps and competence to be an interesting IDP option. Nevertheless, there's a huge void toward the top of fantasy IDP rankings due to the unfortunate loss of Warner.

Logan Wilson

The Bengals' defense isn't a particularly good unit, but the team hasn't hesitated to make moves that it believes to be necessary. This summer, the team released Pratt to open up playing time for Demetrius Knight, and now it has benched Wilson in favor of Carter. Wilson could be a cut or trade candidate, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him bounce back elsewhere – similar to the path we've seen for Pratt.

Troy Reeder

Reeder looked to have a great opportunity to step up in the absence of Omar Speights (ankle). Instead, he played fewer snaps than Shaun Dolac in a rotation and also recorded fewer tackles. Reeder has been a solid per-game contributor for most of his career, but he looks to be buried on the current iteration of the Rams' depth chart.
