The 25-year-old failed to make the Eagles' initial 53-man roster at the end of August, but he remained with their practice squad and is now in line to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Chiefs. Latu's signing provides Philadelphia with extra depth at tight end in Week 2 with Dallas Goedert (knee) set to miss the Super Bowl IX rematch.

The Alabama product still hasn't been cleared for the start of the 2024 season, but his recovery timeline puts him on track to compete for a backup spot behind George Kittle with free-agent pickup Logan Thomas in training camp. Latu doesn't figure to make a fantasy impact in his second season, barring an injury to the aforementioned Kittle.
