FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Thomas Greiss, NYI vs. OTT ($7,500): Greiss and the Islanders sit as solid favorites at home against the Senators. He's won each of his last five starts with 16.80, 28.00, 28.80, 18,40 and 32.00 fantasy points over that span. He's a nice value as a low-owned play, who I think wins and sees upwards of 30 shots against him. Greiss went 1-1 last season against Ottawa, allowing five goals over those two games.

Center

Ryan O'Reilly, BUF vs. PIT ($5,300): O'Reilly has been a bit cold of late without points in his last four games, but the ice time has still been there, as he's seen at least 20 minutes in each game over that span. The Penguins have allowed the third-most fantasy points to centers this season and are expected to start backup goalie Tristan Jarry for the injured Matt Murray.

Mathew Barzal, NYI vs. OTT ($5,100): The Islanders have found a second-line center in the rookie Barzal who has points in seven straight games. He skates with Jordan Eberle and Andrew Ladd on a line that has built some nice chemistry of late. In total, he has six goals and 18 assists, and at just $5,100 he's a supreme value at home.

Wing

Patric Hornqvist, PIT at BUF ($5,600): This game should see some scoring, and Hornqvist comes into Friday with points in five of his last seven games. Over that span, he has three goals and four assists and has been skating on the first line with Sidney Crosby. With a high volume of shots on goal, power play minutes on the top unit and 18-plus minutes of ice time per game of late, Hornqvist's floor is solid and he holds good upside.

Kyle Connor, WPG vs. VGK ($4,400): This is a prime matchup for the Jets at home against a Vegas team playing their second game in as many nights. Connor has been productive skating on the top line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler, as well as seeing top line power-play minutes with them. He has seven goals and eight assists and has at least three shots on goal in four of his last six games.

Chris Kreider, NYR vs. CAR ($5,600): Kreider has five goals in his last four games, including a two-goal effort against the Hurricanes nine days ago. In his last four games against Carolina dating back to last year, he has five goals and one assist. Kreider is very streaky and well underpriced in a matchup that he should feast on. He's seeing time on the top power-play unit of late as well, which boosts his upside.

Defense

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF vs. PIT ($5,000): Ristolainen is another Buffalo value play to consider against the Penguins. He correlates well with O'Reilly, as the two skate on the top power-play unit. He offers a safe floor with tremendous ice time, shots on goal and blocked shots, while having offensive upside. The Penguins have allowed a lot of production to defensemen this season, making Ristolainen great value.

Zach Werenski, CBJ vs. ANH ($5,100): Werenski got back into the scoring column in his last game with a goal and an assist. He's underpriced considering how much ice time he sees, how often he handles the puck and his shot volume. In his second season, he has seven goals, seven assists and 65 shots on goal. Werenski is on the Columbus top power-play unit, and with the Blue Jackets heavy home favorites, look for him to be productive.
