FanDuel NHL: Thursday Values

FanDuel NHL: Thursday Values

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

It's a busy 10-game night in the NHL on Thursday. Here are a number of options to consider while assembling your FanDuel lineups.

GOALIE

Ben Bishop, TAM vs. NYI ($9,000): While it hasn't been a strong start for Bishop (.907 save percentage and 2.91 GAA), it's been baked into his salary to mitigate some of the risk. Look for a bounce-back showing at home Thursday. Entering 2016-17, Bishop posted a 66-22-9 record with a .924 save percentage and an average of just 2.08 goals allowed per game at Amalie Arena through his first three full seasons with Tampa Bay.

CENTER

Mark Scheifele, WPG at ARI ($7,500): The price doesn't match Scheifele's production or upside in a cushy matchup. Arizona has allowed the most goals per game (3.67) and scoring chances per 60 minutes at five-on-five (25.05) this season, and the Jets' go-to pivot has posted an incredible 30 goals and 66 points over his past 60 games. He's also recorded three straight multi-point showings.

Elias Lindholm, CAR vs. ANA ($3,800): Promoted to a top-line gig alongside Victor Rask and Jeff Skinner, Lindholm is a low-priced flier Thursday. The Ducks enter on the wrong end of back-to-back road games, and Lindholm is eyeing positive regression given his 90.3 PDO. He's also increased his shot volume this season (2.25 shots per game).

WING

Patrik Laine, WPG vs. ARI ($5,700): As noted, this is a target-worthy matchup, and Laine's salary makes him a lineup lock Thursday. Playing with Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers of late, Laine has combined with those two for 17.68 scoring chances per 60 minutes and 10.31 goals for per 60 minutes at five-on-five this year. Sure, it's a small sample size, but the cost is small for the NHL's leading goal scorer, too.

David Pastrnak, BOS vs. CLM ($5,600): The Blue Jackets travel for the second leg of a back-to-back spot Thursday, and Pastrnak has been an offensive juggernaut to start the campaign. He's posted a second-ranked 3.97 points per 60 minutes among skaters with at least 100 minutes at five-on-five this season, and he's locked into a top offensive role with an average of 2:42 of power-play time.

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. VAN ($5,200): With 12 shots over his past two games, expect the offense to follow for the sophomore. It's been an underwhelming start with just four goals and five points over 14 games, but Larkin's 93.5 PDO highlights positive regression ahead. He should also carry modest ownership despite the solid matchup. Vancouver has surrendered the seventh-most scoring chances per 60 minutes this season (22.67), after all.

DEFENSE

Anton Stralman, TAM vs. NYI ($3,800): This is a cushy matchup and price to load in Stralman. He's a high-floor fantasy asset with six assists, 14 shots, nine blocked shots and an average of 22:00 of ice (2:31 with the man advantage) over his past nine games. The Islanders have also allowed a league-high 25.79 scoring chances per 60 minutes.

Noah Hanifin, CAR vs. ANA ($3,800): With a second-best 2.44 points per 60 minutes among defensemen with at least 100 minutes this year, Hanifin's an intriguing low-priced flier Thursday. He's likely eyeing an uptick in ice time with Justin Faulk (upper body) out of the lineup, and as noted, the Ducks enter on the wrong end of back-to-back road games.
