Easy win in return from injury
BantamweightUFC
May 30, 2020
Gutierrez defeated Vince Morales via TKO (leg kicks) at 4:27 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a dominant effort from Gutierrez against a clearly inferior opponent. It was made all the more impressive by the fact Gutierrez is just nine months removed from an ACL tear suffered last August. The New Jersey made a constant effort to smash Morales with leg kicks and it paid off. This was a smart stoppage by referee Jason Herzog. Gutierrez had Morales in a boatload of trouble and it only would have gotten worse had the fight been allowed to continued. Gutierrez has won three in a row since dropping his UFC debut back in November 2018.

Slated for May 30 clash
BantamweightUFC
May 21, 2020
Gutierrez is expected to fight Vince Morales in a bantamweight matchup at the May 30 UFC event that could take place in Las Vegas, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite coming up short in The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters Finale back in November of 2018, Gutierrez has earned victories in each of his first two UFC bouts since signing with the promotion. He stands two inches taller and sports a significantly better defense against haymakers than Morales, but Gutierrez surrenders three inches of reach and lands north of a significant strike less per minute. Gutierrez will need to put that defense to good use, as both fighters typically prefer to remain upright in the Octagon.
Eyeing June return after ACL tear
BantamweightUFC
April 15, 2020
Gutierrez said Wednesday in an interview with Nolan King of USA Today that he suffered a complete ACL tear in his last fight against Geraldo de Freitas on Aug. 10. He's since made a full recovery from surgery and is targeting a return to the Octagon in June.
ANALYSIS
Gutierrez earned a decision victory in the fight versus de Freitas but has been idle for the past eight months while recovering from surgery. After received full medical clearance in February, Gutierrez is now turning his focus to regaining fitness ahead of his next fight. He indicated that he's hoping to face Andre Ewell at some point in June for his next clash, though the ongoing coronavirus pandemic could result in any potential matchup being pushed back.
Pulls out decision victory
BantamweightUFC

Gutierrez defeated Geraldo de Freitas via split decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night in Montevideo, Uruguay on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Things kind of got away from him in the final round, but Gutierrez still walked out of the cage as the winner. In the opening two rounds, De Freitas scored takedowns, but Gutierrez was still able to outlanded him on significant strikes 28 to 10. In the final frame, De Freitas had the advantage 30 to 20, but it was not enough to sway the judges. "El Guapo" has now improved his UFC record to 2-1. He has won back-to-back fights since dropping his promotional debut last fall.
Facing de Freitas in Uruguay

July 30, 2019
Gutierrez (13-3-1) is scheduled to face Geraldo de Freitas (12-4-0) in a bantamweight fight at UFC Uruguay on Aug. 10, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The undercard matchup will feature two relative UFC newcomers, as Gutierrez made his promotional debut last November, while de Freitas entered the Octagon for the first time in February. "El Guapo" took a loss via submission to Raoni Barcelos in said debut, but rebounded nicely in Nashville in March, scoring a unanimous-decision victory over Ryan MacDonald.
Styles on opponent in Nashville

Gutierrez defeated Ryan MacDonald via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night 148 in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Gutierrez received a late-replacement fight after Martin Day was forced to withdraw from the bout and it showed, as Gutierrez brutalized his opponent with leg kicks and body work for the better part of three rounds. While it looked to be easy work for Gutierrez, the fact that such a lopsided contest saw the scorecards can be seen as a testament to the low output and lack of finishing ability of the 27-year-old. He will need to come forward more often in order to avoid getting stalled out when he doesn't get exactly the kind of fight he wants. Gutierrez moves to 13-4-1 in professional MMA as a result of the victory,
