It's been a busy summer, as usual, for the Premier League, and the rich only got richer. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City made some of the biggest moves in this transfer window, and their new players are under the spotlight entering the 2025/26 season.
From a new British transfer record to a variety of new goalkeepers, I'll breakdown the most important moves for fantasy purposes.
GOALKEEPERS
James Trafford, Manchester City
Djordje Petrovic, Bournemouth
Caoimhin Kelleher, Brentford
These three have been the biggest keeper moves, excluding Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is officially with Liverpool after his transfer last summer. Trafford could end up becoming the No. 1 at City given the nervy Ederson performances the past couple seasons, and any City goalkeeper deserves attention in fantasy circles.
Petrovic and Kelleher have joined their new clubs as the definite starters. Petrovic will replace on-loan Kepa Arrizabalaga from last season at Bournemouth and doesn't seem to have much challenge for starts. The same goes for Kelleher, who will replace save-machine Mark Flekken, who is no longer at Brentford.
DEFENDERS
Adrien Truffert, Bournemouth
Truffert joined Bournemouth where he'll replace Liverpool's Milos Kerkez at left-back following five seasons at Rennes. Truffert hasn't eclipsed six goal involvements in a season, but he has a well-suited game for the Premier League as an attacking full-back who is capable of whipping in dangerous crosses. He had his best season in 2024/25 with 145 crosses and 39 chances created in 33 Ligue 1 appearances. He's capable of taking set pieces as well and brings European experience to a Cherries side that finished in the top-half last campaign.
Youngster Julio Soler, who joined Bournemouth in January, is his main competition for minutes.
Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool
While losing a player of Trent Alexander-Arnold's caliber is never easy, Liverpool have done an excellent job of replacing their right-back by bringing in Frimpong. He's been a goal-involvement monster over the last two seasons at Leverkusen with 26 goals and assists in 64 Bundesliga appearances. Liverpool are likely to play him as a more traditional right-back, but he should also see chances to rotate with Mohamed Salah.
There's plenty of reason to believe Frimpong can be one of the highest scoring defenders in fantasy this season, though his ADP of 36 in Fantrax leagues may be a little steep given the likelihood of a goal involvement drop off and competiton for minutes with Conor Bradley.
MIDFIELDERS
Florian Wirtz, Liverpool
I've been a Leverkusen fan since I started watching the sport in 2006 and Wirtz is the best talent I've seen at the club, better than the likes of Son Heung-Min, Kai Havertz or even the great Michael Ballack. Wirtz is incredible in attack, a wizard in tight spaces and a passing maestro with incredible finishing ability. Adding his individual talents to this well-oiled Liverpool side should be frightening for the rest of the league.
Wirtz can play in attacking midfield, on either wing or even through the middle as a false nine. With 44 goal involvements the past two seasons, the sky is the limit for Wirtz. His lone downside has been his health in the past, but he's played in 63 Bundesliga games in the last two campaigns.
Martin Zubimendi, Arsenal
After being rumored to join the Premier League last summer, Zubimendi finally got his move to Arsenal. He looks set to be a regular alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in a midfield three following the departure of Thomas Partey. Zubimendi is more of a defensive-minded midfielder with only six goals and two assists in the last two La Liga seasons at Real Sociedad. Zubimendi should be a reliable starter on one of the best teams in the league with plenty of chances for clean sheets and the occasional goal involvement.
Tijjani Reijnders, Manchester City
Reijnders offers more offensive upside than Zubimendi, but his playing time is more of a question. City are extremely fluid in their midfield with Rodri's role locked in when healthy and the likes of Reijnders set to compete with any number of players for starting minutes. When in the starting XI, Reijnders can be a solid option like most of City, but similar to a player like Jeremy Doku last season who was in and out of the lineup, it'll be tricky to manage him in fantasy.
FORWARDS
Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool
Liverpool cooked this summer and Ekitike was somewhat of the cherry on top after already adding Wirtz and Frimpong. Ekitike joined Frankfurt in January of the 2023/24 season and has since scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists and was one of the best strikers in the league last season. He gets a dream landing spot as he replaces a mixed bag of strikers for Liverpool and will receive service from elite full-backs, Wirtz and Salah. As long as Liverpool don't add Alexander Isak, Ekitike should have a good chance at 2,000-plus minutes and 20 goal involvements.
Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal
Arsenal also did a great job this window, finally landing an elite forward in Gyokeres who is coming off an incredible season in which he scored 39 goals and provided eight assists across 33 appearances in Liga Portugal. He's been one of the best forwards in Europe in recent seasons and will now lead the line for Arsenal. Gyokeres could be the key piece that gets Arsenal over the hump with the only real question being how he performs in a tougher league.
