All men's and women's singles matches at the Cincinnati Open are best of three sets. A mix of players' previous hard court results, recent form and stylistic matchups can help pinpoint intriguing betting opportunities, both among favorites likely to cruise to victory and underdogs ready to pull off upsets. The aforementioned underdogs are highlighted in the Upset Alert section, the Lock It In section covers players who can safely be viewed as overwhelming favorites, while the Value Bets section recommends enticing options in matchups that are considered closer to toss-ups.
Cincinnati Open Tennis Picks: Upset Alert
Alexander Zverev (+175) vs. Carlos Alcaraz
Alcaraz has shown some vulnerability on hard courts this year, as his 19-4 record on this surface in 2025 is a far cry from his 33-2 combined mark on clay and grass. Zverev's mental shortcomings in big matches are less likely to affect him as the underdog in a Masters 1000 tournament as compared to playing in a Grand Slam, so he's less likely to hold himself back in this upset bid. The big-serving German has given Alcaraz problems before, as Alcaraz's return of serve is arguably the Spaniard's biggest weakness. Zverev leads their head-to-head 6-5, including 5-2 on hard courts.
Cincinnati Open Tennis Odds: Lock It In
Jannik Sinner (-2000) vs. Terence Atmane
Atmane has put his name on the map in this tournament, going from a player with one ATP Tour main draw win in his career to a guy whose list of notable ATP scalps is quickly becoming nearly as impressive as his Pokemon card collection. The 23-year-old Frenchman already has two top-10 wins in this tournament over Taylor Fritz and Holger Rune, but beating Sinner is an order of magnitude harder, especially on hard courts, where the top-ranked Italian has lost only once since the start of last year to anyone other than rival Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner's unmatched mix of pace, timing and accuracy off the ground is almost impossible to prepare for if you haven't faced it before, and he has cruised into the semifinals without dropping a set.
Cincinnati Open Tennis Predictions: Value Bets
Elena Rybakina (+135) vs. Iga Swiatek
Rybakina's riding high after back-to-back big wins over Australian Open champion Madison Keys and world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. She certainly has the skills to keep rolling against the third-ranked Wimbledon champion Swiatek, as Rybakina has a substantial edge on serve and flatter strokes that get more mileage out of the fast hard courts in Cincinnati. Rybakina had Iga on the ropes on Swiatek's turf at the French Open before Swiatek pulled out a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 win, but the change in conditions from clay to faster hard courts could prove to be enough to tilt this matchup in Rybakina's favor. A Rybakina win here would level their head-to-head at 5-5.
