WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The Mercury (16-9) and Fever (15-12) meet at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, but one notable player won't be on the court. Caitlin Clark remains sidelined, and she doesn't have a timetable to return.
Indiana has owned this series recently, winning each of the past five meetings while covering the previous four installments since Aug. 20, 2023, which pre-dates Clark. These have been higher scoring games, too, with the winning side notching at least 83 points in nine of the past 10 matchups since June 15, 2022.
The Mercury racked up an 88-72 win in Washington on Sunday, halting a three-game losing streak. The good news is that Kahleah Copper and Satou Sabally are healthy again, giving Phoenix its "Big Three" back, in addition to Alyssa Thomas.
Thomas had 27 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists across 33 minutes in Sunday's win over Washington, while also totaling three steals.
Mercury veteran DeWanna Bonner has had her moments lately, too, as she has had a resurgence in return to Phoenix. It's possible that she gets a chilly reception in Indiana, however. She didn't like her role with the Fever earlier this season, and she was let go following a brief tenure.
Phoenix has been pretty decent defensively, allowing 80.2 points per game (PPG), fifth in the WNBA, while giving up just 42.4 percent efficiency from the field, ranking fourth.
Meanwhile, Indiana is third in the WNBA against three-pointers, limiting opponents to 31.5 percent, while hitting 45.4 percent from the field on offense, also third in the league.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The Liberty (17-8) meet the Lynx (22-6) in a WNBA Finals rematch at Target Center in Minneapolis.
New York limps in, literally and figuratively, losing the past two games to the Wings and Sparks, two teams with losing record. The Liberty have a laundry list of player dotting the injury report, including Breanna Stewart (leg), who will be unavailable once again.
Minnesota was stunned 90-86 against the Dream on Sunday, halting a four-game win streak. Still, the Lynx have been putting up big offensive totals lately, win or lose, going for at least 86 points in three consecutive games, and five of the past seven contests.
While New York managed just 82 points Monday against Dallas, the team still has at least 79 points in seven straight games, and 24 of 25 outings this season. It's no surprise the Liberty rank No. 1 in the WNBA in points scored (87.7) and three-point percentage (35.4). Defensively, while the Liberty allow a lackluster 80.6 PPG, they limit teams to just 41.8 percent efficiency on field goals, and 31.8 percent on threes.
With the Lynx, you can expect a solid performance against the beat-up Liberty, and with just a handful of games, it could be beneficial to consider a Lynx stack.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The Dream (15-11) and Wings (8-19) square off Wednesday, and Atlanta looks to take advantage of the defensively-challenged Dallas side.
Atlanta is looking to rebound after a 77-75 loss at home to the Valkyries on Tuesday. Lately, though, the Dream have scored better on the road, going for at least 86 points in three of the past four matchups.
Dallas stunned the banged-up Liberty last time out, winning 92-82 in Arlington on Monday, and the Wings' offense has recorded at least 70 points in five of the past six games.
The Wings struggle on offense, ranking 11th in both field-goal percentage (41.7) and three-point percentage (32.0). Dallas is especially poor defensively, allowing 86.4 points (10th), 44.7 field-goal percentage (10th) and 36.2 three-point percentage (12th). Using a stack against the Wings, especially on a night with a short slate, is a good move.
Top WNBA DFS Picks: Key Players to Watch
FanDuel
- Alyssa Thomas ($8,700)
- Allisha Gray ($7,000)
- Jordin Canada ($6,600)
Thomas is a strong play for the Mercury, as she's been a consistent double-double threat in recent weeks. As far as a Dream stack against the defensively-challenged Wings, it's a good idea to go with Canada and Gray. Both of those players have rather modest DFS salaries, especially on a light slate, but both could exceed salary expectations by quite a bit. As far as values, Bonner could relish playing the villain in Indianapolis.
Unlocking Value: WNBA DFS Sleeper Picks
- DeWanna Bonner ($5,200)
- Li Yueru ($5,100)
DraftKings
- Allisha Gray ($10,100)
- Alanna Smith ($8,400)
- Brittney Griner ($7,500)
Again, Gray should have strong numbers against the struggling Wings. Smith has managed 26.9 fantasy points per game (FPPG), which might not be as impressive as other similarly-priced players, but she faces a Liberty team with an OPRK of 11th. With Griner, it should be a dream scenario for Atlanta against the Wings. Looking to values, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough could excel off the bench against a Dallas team with an OPRK of 12th. Sophie Cunningham is a borderline sleeper as she goes against her former team.

- Shatori Walker-Kimbrough ($4,600)
- Sophie Cunningham ($6,900)
