FanDuel MLB: Tuesday Picks

FanDuel MLB: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Welcome to my Daily Plays article for Tuesday. There has been a lot of injuries around the league the last few days, so make sure to know who's replacing those injured players and you might find some value. The weather on the east coast has been an issue recently, so keep an eye out for potential inclement weather. Also, the White Sox-Orioles game at Baltimore is postponed. Tuesday has a full slate of games, so let's get to the picks!

Pitcher

Clayton Kershaw, $11,500 - Kershaw is the top pitcher available and is worth paying up for at Dodger stadium. In his two home starts this year, Kershaw has 21 strikeouts in just 12 innings. He faces Madison Bumgarner, so winning won't be easy, but the Dodgers have a strong enough lineup to put some runs on the board. Kershaw has the ability to rack up a lot of fantasy points, so start him with confidence.

Archie Bradley, $7,000 - Bradley is a great value play for those who do not want to spend their cap on Clayton Kershaw or Johnny Cueto, $10,400. Bradley has impressed thus far with a 1.45 ERA and .119 average allowed through three starts. Bradley has only allowed one run in two starts at home and is a great bet to earn a victory against Kyle Kendrick and the Rockies. We also recommend Rafael Montero, $5,800, making his 2015 debut for the Mets at Miami. Montero has electric stuff and could have a nice outing against the Marlins.

Catcher

Victor Martinez, $3,400 - Martinez is underpriced and is still catcher eligible on FanDuel. He has started slowly in 2015, but is in a great spot to produce against Mike Pelfrey. Martinez hit .417 at Target Field in 2014 and bats cleanup for the powerful Tigers. Due to his suppressed price tag, Martinez makes an excellent value play.

First Base

Matt Adams, $2,800 - Adams enjoys facing right-handed pitchers and faces Severino Gonzalez, who is making his major-league debut. Adams batted .318 and slugged .505 against right-handed pitching in 2014 and has big-time power. Batting in the heart of the lineup, Adams is a great value at first base and is a good bet to hit a home run Tuesday night.

Second Base

Howie Kendrick, $3,200 - Our original selection, Baltimore's Jimmy Paredes ($3,300), is not playing as Baltimore's game against the White Sox was postponed. A slightly less expensive option, Kendrick is hitting an impressive .314/.377/.557 as the Dodgers' cleanup man. The matchup against Madison Bumgarner isn't ideal, but the Giants' ace hasn't been great to this point, with an ERA well over 4.5.

Kolten Wong, $2,700 - In case you were banking on Paredes, here's another second-base option. Wong makes an excellent value play facing Severino Gonzalez, a right-hander making his major-league debut. Wong has heated up at the plate recently with 10 hits in his last seven games, including four extra-base hits. The Cardinals should put some runs on the board, too.

Third Base

Kris Bryant, $3,500 - Bryant has lived up to the hype since being called up and is getting more comfortable at the plate. In his last nine games, Bryant has four doubles, nine RBI and eight walks. He has yet to hit a home run, but that could change against the left-handed Jeff Locke. Locke struggled against the Cubs in his last start, and this game is at Wrigley Field. Batting cleanup for the Cubs, Bryant makes an excellent value play at third base.

Shortstop

Asdrubal Cabrera, $2,200 - There are a lot of inexpensive options at shortstop, but Cabrera offers the best value. Cabrera has really struggled batting right-handed this season (.050 batting average), but has hit a respectable .269 from the left side. He has also heated up recently with hits in five of his last six games. Facing the right-handed Chase Whitley, who will make a spot start for the Yankees, Cabrera offers great value at shortstop with his minimum-priced salary.

Outfield

Jorge Soler, $3,200 - Soler is very inexpensive and offers tremendous value at his price tag. He enjoys facing left-handed pitchers and is batting .364 so far in 2015 off southpaws. Soler has tremendous power and bats second in the young Cubs lineup. Similar to Bryant, he is in a great spot to produce and makes an excellent value play in the outfield.

Jay Bruce, $2,800 - Bruce is inconsistent but has had two huge fantasy games against the Milwaukee Brewers in the last week. Facing Kyle Lohse, who has really struggled this season with a 7.94 ERA, Bruce offers tremendous value at his suppressed price tag. Bruce bats cleanup for the Reds and should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs Tuesday night.

Austin Jackson, $2,400 - Nelson Cruz, $5,000, gets most of the attention on the Mariners when facing a left-handed pitcher, but Austin Jackson has also crushed left-handed pitching and costs less than half of Cruz. Cruz is recommended Tuesday as well, as the Mariners face Ross Detwiler and his 10.95 ERA. Jackson is batting .368 versus left-handed pitching, including both of his home runs. Atop the lineup in hitter-friendly Arlington Park, Jackson is the top value play in the outfield.
