While the injury sounds a bit unusual, itís a common ailment that is generally referred to as something else.
The area known as the groin isnít an isolated muscle but a group of muscles known as the adductors. The adductor group work together to pull the leg inward toward the midline of the body in a direction known as adduction. Muscles included in the groin include the adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus, pectineus, and gracilis.
