Newgarden finished third place in the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday.

Newgarden was just edged out by Pato O'Ward for second after leading 54 laps, second-most to only pole-sitter Kyle Kirkwood who finished fourth. It was a trying year for Newgarden who's eighth place finish in the standings is his worst since joining Team Penske in 2017. Newgarden won two titles (2017, 2019), finished second three times and fifth twice in the previous seven seasons with the team. All that being said, the Tennessee native did win twice in 2024, including the Indy 500 for the second straight year. Expect the No. 2 team to get back to form in 2025 and challenge for a third championship, something Alex Palou just accomplished.
