The college football season is into the second half, and already we've seen several outstanding games and standout performances by players from across the country.
While the sport has been dominated in recent years by star underclassmen who leave early for the NFL, that trend may be changing now that players can make endorsement deals and receive a share of the revenue colleges make from athletics. Those changes, along with the transfer portal, is leading to more seniors taking center stage on the gridiron.

With that in mind, RotoWire continues its college football betting analysis by choosing some of the top upperclassmen in college football by creating an All-Senior Team after Week 8. Any senior, redshirt or true, in the Football Bowl Subdivision is eligible.

Starting things off for our Week 8 All-Senior Team is a man who still hasn't thrown an interception this season, with
UConn senior quarterback Joe Fagnano adding another solid performance to his résumé in Chestnut Hill on Saturday. That's where the Huskies' senior QB threw for 362 yards on 23-of-31 passing, throwing for four touchdowns for a second straight week and adding a QBR of 90.4 in the team's 38-23 road win over Boston College.
For his efforts, Fagnano earns QB1 honors on our team this week, with running backs Anthony Hankerson of Oregon State and Oregon's Noah Whittington joining him in this hypothetical backfield.
In Hankerson's case, the senior out of Florida racked up 204 yards and four scores in the Beavers' 45-13 demolition of FCS program Lafeyette in Corvallis, giving Oregon State its first victory of 2025. The Beavers' Civil War rivals from Eugene got an equally impressive outing from Whittington, who ran for 125 yards and two scores on 11 carries in the Ducks' 56-10 road demolition of Rutgers in Piscataway, getting Oregon on the right track after falling to Indiana at home last week, 30-20.
At the receiver position, our Week 8 team includes Chris Bell of Louisville, who had 136 yards and two scores on nine catches in the Cardinals' 24-21 upset win over Miami on Friday, while Anthony Smith of East Carolina and Cooper Barkate of Duke rounded out the list in Week 8.
In Smith's case, it was a matter of quality over quantity, as the senior wideout had 150 yards on four catches with two scores in the Pirates' 41-27 win over Tulsa, while Barkate had 172 yards on 13 receptions in Duke's 27-18 home loss to 12th ranked Georgia Tech.
Rounding out the skill position group offensively this week was Cole Spence of Vanderbilt, who hauled in five catches for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Commodores' 31-24 home win over LSU on Saturday.
Along the trenches, tackles Darrell Bailey Jr. of Georgia State and Alan Herron of Maryland were joined by guards Beau Stephens of Iowa and Wyoming's Caden Barnett, while center Broderick Roman of Southern Mississippi finished off this week's offensive unit.
