College Football DFS: Week 15 Night Slate

The Saturday late slate is identical for both sites, and it includes some classic intrastate matchups as the regular season rounds the final turn.

SLATE OVERVIEW

LSU @ Florida (-23) O/U: 68.5

Louisiana Tech @ TCU (-22) O/U: 51

Auburn @ Mississippi State (+6.5) O/U: 49.5

USC @ UCLA (+3) O/U: 64

Virginia @ Virginia Tech (-3.5) O/U: 63

For the sports bettors out there, it seems that Vegas is giving the Bruins a lot of credit as they take on the Trojans in Pasadena.  On paper, UCLA looks way out-classed against unbeaten USC, and the spread here seems out of whack. UCLA has had the Trojans' number in this rivalry in recent years, and even though I buy the O/U number, I expect the Bruins to be playing from behind.  Florida's tuneup before facing Alabama is also sure to be a night of prolific output as the Gators continue to make a case for a spot in the CFP.  They'll aim to run up the score to make that point.  Conversely, I'm not as crazy about the Auburn- Mississippi State game.

QUARTERBACK

Kyle Trask, Florida (DK $10,000, FD $11,200) vs. LSU

Although there are a few cheaper quarterbacks who could meet and possibly exceed Trask's output, it would be irresponsible to leave out an endorsement. Even in a down week against Kentucky, the only game where his passing total went below 300 yards, he tossed three touchdown passes. No matter how this game flows, Trask will command the offense behind a front line that's only surrendered 11 sacks this season and should have no problem picking apart LSU's secondary.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA (DK $9,000, FD $10,600) vs. USC

This game represents one of the fiercest rivalries in all of college sports. No joke, these schools REALLY hate each other. To make matters worse for the Bruins, Kedon Slovis (DK $8,200, FD $9,400) and the Trojans are unbeaten, and they're arguably the best squad of the Clay Helton era.  DTR is the best quarterback they've faced, and he's going to do his best to run all over a defense that has been stellar one week and mediocre the next. I am taking both quarterbacks in this matchup based on the hard numbers and the intangibles that loom over this rivalry.

Brennan Armstrong, Virginia (DK $8,500, FD $10,200) @ Virginia Tech

Armstrong rose from an afterthought to a bonafide DFS star this season, and his above-average price is right where it should be. While his completion percentage and TD/INT ratio is average, his five rushing touchdowns make him a legitimate dual-threat that rivals only DTR on this slate. He'll play a Virginia Tech team that's licking their wounds after a hard loss to Clemson, and their quarterbacks took a beating in the blowout.  The Hokies are vulnerable, and we should expect another excellent outing from Armstrong.

RUNNING BACK

Khalil Herbert, Virginia Tech (DK $7,100, FD $9,000) vs. Virginia

We're running with the same theme in selecting Herbert, who will be leaned on to keep the offense humming if the Hokies' passing game falters. Herbert broke some superb runs against Clemson's defense last week in what was one of his better outings of the season, and it's an encouraging rebound effort. Although he has seven rushing touchdowns, last week's score ended a four-game drought without a touchdown.  Virginia's given up an average of 133 yards to opposing rushers, so there's good reason to see success for Herbert in this matchup.

Brittain Brown, UCLA (DK $5,100, FD $6,900) vs. USC

Of course, Demetric Felton is the chart-topper on this slate and the unquestioned bell-cow back for the Bruins, but Brown has gotten an adequate number of carries and has fared quite well, with almost 300 yards rushing and an average of 6.4 yards per carry. He also has three rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown to his credit. If you have room for Felton, he's a strong chalk endorsement, but adding Brown will make a lot of room in your salary cap and still give you a piece of UCLA's offense.

Dameon Pierce, Florida (DK $4,700, FD $6,500) vs. LSU

Pierce is still a very relevant element for the Gators despite their air superiority, and although his numbers don't jump off the page, he's had some decent outings.  His numbers are really touchdown-dependent, and he's gone scoreless over the past two games. In this blowout, he's certainly due.

WIDE RECEIVER

Kyle Pitts (DK $8,000, FD $9,300) is the most talented tight end in the country and incredibly expensive.  If you opt for Trask he's an excellent stack, but unlike the running back offerings, I think there are cheaper receivers that can match Pitts' floor, and that's why I'm limiting my exposure to Pitts despite his explosive potential.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (DK $7,800, FD $8,700) and Tyler Vaughns (DK $6,100, FD $7,500), USC at UCLA

St. Brown's four-touchdown day was one of the year's best performances by a receiver, but Vaughns is a great possession receiver who can also break out with a big play.  If Kedon Slovis gets hot and you roster him, it'll be because of these two guys, and you're going to wish you had stacked both of them.  Aside from Pitts, these two wideouts are NFL-ready and the most talented wideouts on the slate.

Kadarius Toney, Florida (DK $7,000, FD $9,000) vs. LSU

Toney is Trask's second-favorite target, and I like him despite the blowout potential. He's still shown up in lopsided games, with two touchdowns against Missouri and 107 receiving yards against Vanderbilt.  All of the output may come in the first half, but his floor is pretty reliable overall.

Ra'Shaun Henry, Virginia (DK $5,400, FD $6,300) @ Virginia Tech

Henry's scored a touchdown in every game he's played this season. He doesn't amass a lot of targets, but when his number is called, it's usually for the deep ball. He's only caught six passes for four games, but four of them have gone for touchdowns, and he's averaging 33 yards per catch.  Not bad at this salary point.
