Staff Picks: Bills and Broncos

Staff Picks: Bills and Broncos

This article is part of our NFL Picks series.

What a brutal week for the Staff. Only Payne had a winning record, and barely at that. We went 0-4 on unanimous picks (though the Redskins were a bad beat), and only Payne won his best bet. That bad showing across the board is good news for Pianowski who has it all but sewn up with an 11-game lead and two weeks to play.

This week is interesting. Pianowski and I differ on only one pick (Giants-Redskins), while Erickson broke up six would-be unanimous picks all by himself. Two he didn't break up are the Bills and Broncos, the latter of which is DDD's best bet.

This week we have two unanimous picks, the Bills and Broncos. Last week, we lost with the Lions, Redskins, Bengals and Broncos, bringing our record to 21-15-1 on unanimous picks. We also went 5-10-1 on majority picks (three or more writers) to go 111-108-5 on the year. We were 26-21-1 on unanimous picks and 132-115-9 on majority picks in 2018.

EricksonI'll gladly take a home dog in the Fraud Bowl. I also like the Bills and Vikings.
PianowskiSurprised Miami wasn't giving a few more points; would Cincinnati really be favored on a neutral field? Granted, games in so many stadiums feel neutral these days.
LissI love the Ravens playing for home field throughout the playoffs with extra rest against a Browns squad that (1) beat them before (less likely to be complacent); (2) is missing Myles Garrett; and (3) seems close to all-out mutiny against their inept coach. I also like the Broncos in what could be a bad weather game, home against a terrible Lions squad.
PayneAlmost went with the Titans for my best bet. Tough to pick for or against the Falcons, 49ers, Patriots and Texans week to week; you just don't know who is going to show up.
Del DonThis is a tough week, and I usually prefer underdogs as my best bet, but I see Denver rolling at home.
