We're slowly climbing back up to being respectable, but I have a sneaking suspicion I won't feel great about that statement after this week. There's too much parity between the bad teams and "good" bad teams, and Vegas is acting like there's definitive and obvious answers when I don't think there is. If that's at all a reflection of the past couple of weeks, it means now might be a great time to try and fade my calls.

NFL Week 7 Predictions
In this article, we also take a look at NFL Week 7 odds and our predictions for each NFL game. Home teams are listed last.
Steelers vs.
Bengals
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Steelers vs. Bengals | Steelers -5.5 | Pittsburgh -265; Cincinnati +215 | 43.5 |
I'm not entirely sure which side I lean on this line. Pittsburgh is obviously the better team, but I'm not sure the defense is good enough to support being such heavy favorites, on the road no less to. Plus these Thursday games have been leaning towards the underdog far too often.
Spread Pick: Bengals +5.5
Total Pick: Over 43.5
Rams vs.
Jaguars
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Rams vs. Jaguars | Rams -3 | Los Angeles -155; Jacksonville +130 | 44.5 |
I'm actually really excited for this game, which is how I know it's going to be a complete letdown. I revere Matthew Stafford and I think he's one of those QBs can make chicken salad out of anything. This is going to be a tough matchup, however, especially from a travel perspective and that Jacksonville theoretically has an advantage as a franchise having pioneered the overseas travel.
Spread Pick: Jacksonville +3
Total Pick: Over 44.5
Saints vs.
Bears
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Saints vs. Bears | Bears -4.5 | Chicago -230; New Orleans +190 | 47.5 |
I don't feel particularly good taking Chicago, but it's harder for me to envision New Orleans running a functioning offense especially if the conditions are slippery. I don't think there's much more analysis needed really than that.
Spread Pick: Bears -4.5
Total Pick: Under 47.5
Dolphins vs.
Browns
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Dolphins vs. Browns | Browns -2.5 | Cleveland -142; Miami +120 | 40.5 |
What a truly horrendous game. I'm shocked Cleveland is favored, but then again I don't know how the Dolphins score more than 10 points. I guess I'm going to just take the offense I have more confidence in, but Quinshon Judkins could be a literal game wrecker in this.
Spread Pick: Dolphins +2.5
Total Pick: Under 40.5
Raiders vs.
Chiefs
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Raiders vs. Chiefs | Chiefs -11.5 | Kansas City -850; Las Vegas +575 | 45.5 |
The Raiders always seem to play Kansas City hard at least once during a season, but this just feels different. I have zero confidence in whatever Las Vegas is executing on a quarter to quarter basis, and while I don't think Pete Carroll will let the ship sink, there doesn't seem like a lot of teeth in this team at the moment.
Spread Pick: Chiefs -11.5
Total Pick: Over 45.5
Eagles vs.
Vikings
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Eagles vs. Vikings | Eagles -1.5 | Eagles -125: Vikings +105 | 43.5 |
At some point the ship in Philadelphia has to get redirected, right? Part of me thinks Minnesota would be better off if Carson Wentz played again for J.J. McCarthy, but if Jaxson Dart can just use his mobility to make a muck of things, that's one of the bigger selling points of McCarthy too. I haven't sold many shares of my "Philadelphia repeats" stance, but I really didn't imagine things looking so much against the Giants, and I also don't understand why they haven't been able to fix anything halfway through October. The Eagles are obviously the better team, but when is that going to start mattering?
Spread Pick: Eagles -1.5
Total Pick: Over 43.5
Panthers vs.
Jets
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Panthers vs. Jets | Panthers -1.5 | Carolina -125: New York +105 | 42.5 |
This line should be higher, right? Like Vegas has to know something about the Jets, otherwise there's no way this makes sense. The score might be like 10-7, but without Garrett Wilson, I legitimately don't understand how the Jets are supposed to move the ball.
Spread Pick: Panthers -1.5
Total Pick: Under 42.5
Patriots vs.
Titans
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Patriots vs. Titans | -7 | New England -355; Tennessee +280 | 42.5 |
Veterans of this column know I love betting the deadcat bounce, but I gotta imagine that clashes significantly with a revenge game from a former coach currently controlling one of the hottest teams in the league. I wouldn't pick the Patriots in Survivor leagues, but if I have to pick one way I think they cover.
Spread Pick: Patriots -7
Total Pick: Under 42.5
Giants vs.
Broncos
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Giants vs. Broncos | Broncos -7 | Denver -375; New York +295 | 39.5 |
I hate this line too. I guarantee there's going to be a ton of money coming in on the Giants, but I don't trust them in a hostile environment like this. I also don't trust Sean Payton to just run a normal offense, but I'm hoping he'll take a look at New York's pass defense and not turtle up into this pathetic version we've seen the past couple of weeks.
Spread Pick: Broncos -7
Total Pick: Over 39.5
Colts vs.
Chargers
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Colts vs. Chargers | Chargers -1.5 | Los Angeles -130; Indianapolis +110 | 48.5 |
Conversely, this game should be awesome. I think the injuries Los Angeles is dealing with is just going to be too difficult to overcome especially given they probably should have lost to the Dolphins last week. Either way I'm assuming there's going to be a ton of points and this total is one of my favorites to include from a teaser perspective.
Spread Pick: Colts +1.5
Total Pick: Under 41.5
Packers vs.
Cardinals
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Packers vs. Cardinals | Packers -6.5 | Green Bay -345; Arizona +275 | 44.5 |
I feel way better about the Packers taking care of business in this game than I did last week against the Bengals. Jacoby Brissett probably makes Arizona's offense better, but unlike Joe Flacco, Brissett isn't one of those quick read types of quarterbacks. I think Green Bay's defense can actually tee off on him and there's no one other imposing still left in terms of offensive weapons in Arizona.
Spread Pick: Packers -6.5
Total Pick: Over 44.5
Commanders vs.
Cowboys
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Commanders vs. Cowboys | Commanders -2.5 | Washington -135; Dallas +114 | 54.5 |
It's possible Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) returns for this game, but I don't think it entirely matters. Dallas is so susceptible no matter who is catching the ball that it's just going to be a track meet. I'll begrudgingly pick Washington even though this would be one of those games where Dallas ends up maddeningly winning and teasing their fans into believing a playoff possibility is in sight.
Spread Pick: Commanders -2.5
Total Pick: Over 54.5
Falcons vs.
49ers
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Falcons vs. 49ers | 49ers -2.5 | San Francisco -135; Atlanta +114 | 47.5 |
Atlanta has had its pass rush show up in two games -- against Minnesota and against Buffalo both on primetime games-- and I think people are projecting a bit too much into things from just those contests. This is still the team that bizarrely lost 30-0 to the Panthers of all teams, and I refuse to assume things have just been completely fixed.
Spread Pick: 49ers -2.5
Total Pick: Over 47.5
Buccaneers vs.
Lions
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Buccaneers vs. Lions | Lions -5.5 | Detroit -250; Tampa Bay +205 | 52.5 |
There's absolutely zero reason the Buccanners should be underdogs to this degree. Not with the amount of secondary injuries Detroit has, and absolutely not with the way Baker Mayfield has been playing.
Spread Pick: Buccaneers +5.5
Total Pick: Over 52.5
Texans vs.
Seahawks
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Texans vs. Seahawks | Seattle -3 | Seattle -166; Houston +140 | 41.5 |
I'm trying not to overthink this one. Houston decimated a bad Ravens team before the bye week. Seattle has been playing well against basically every opponent now for about a month, and they're at home. I don't think it's entirely a no brainer, but I do feel relatively confident in Seattle.
Spread Pick: Seahawks -3
Total Pick: Under 41.5
