Schedule Analysis: Trouble in Chicago

This article is part of our Schedule Analysis series.

Four Aces

Obviously, like most weeks, you'll want to avoid counting on players with teams (St. Louis, Winnipeg) that have just two games this week. Here are six teams with a full docket.

  • Calgary is 2-1 against this week's opponents.

  • Minnesota is 5-1 against this week's opponents. With Jared Spurgeon and Marc Scandella missing, you could see the Wild in the buyer's market.

  • Montreal is 1-2 against this week's opponents. Alexei Emelin (shoulder) will travel with the team this week.

  • Nashville is 5-2 against this week's opponents.

  • Ottawa is 3-1-2 against this week's opponents. Andrew Hammond continues his stranglehold.

  • Philadelphia is 1-4 against this week's opponents. Nicklas Grossman left Saturday's win after taking a shot to the head.

Three of a Kind

Hold 'Em

What a difference a week makes in Chicago. Not only is Patrick Kane gone, but there's widespread rumors of team disdain, mostly from Patrick Sharp, who may get moved. Not sure why they would deal for Antoine Vermette and Kimmo Timonen and shop Sharp; he must have been a dirty bird! Nonetheless, Carolina, Edmonton and the Rangers all at home make for a nice week of recovery.

Tampa Bay has McEichel-derby contestants Buffalo and Toronto, as well as high-scoring and high goal-yielding Dallas, all three of which will be at home. Sounds like a winning hand to us.

Nothing about Washington's record against this week's opponents, Columbus, Minnesota and Buffalo, but that's not going to stop us from investing in the Caps this week.

Arizona plays host to Anaheim, Vancouver and Montreal.

The Rangers start off with a host night against Nashville before dates in Detroit and Chicago. Big test this week.

San Jose starts off the week on a back-to-back set, and it should be interesting one. Tye McGinn (upper body) was activated from IR on Saturday.

Other RotoWire Reports:Sergei Bobrovsky has been activated off IR. David Clarkson was decent in his debut with the Jackets. Patrick Eaves (concussion) is expected to play Sunday. Valeri Nichuskin (hip) could be back in a couple of weeks, hopefully the same goes for Tyler Seguin (knee). Brandon Pirri enjoyed his time with new linemate Jaromir Jagr. Although Henrik Zetterberg was placed on IR, he's expected to return Wednesday.
