The National Hockey League (NHL) has a total of eight games on Sunday. We have a pair of matinee games, and we'll skip those to give you more time to get your bets in. That includes the NHL Network game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings at 1 p.m. ET. We'll focus on the evening window.

For the second consecutive day, we hit our sides parlay. On Friday, a three-team sides parlay paid +639, while Saturday was a more modest +476. Still, it wasn't a bad haul. Hopefully you were able to take advantage during this red-hot weekend. Let's keep it cooking on Sunday.

We'll provide single plays and parlay opportunities you could potentially pair with the Week 10 NFL schedule, NBA action, and/or NCAA basketball. Good luck with all of your plays! Let's get started.

NHL Sunday Night: Top Betting Picks and Parlay Insights

Colorado Avalanche at Vancouver Canucks

The Avalanche (9-1-5) and Canucks (8-8-0) meet at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. on Sunday night at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Colorado rolled up a 9-1 victory in Edmonton on Saturday night, and now it faces the quick turnaround in Vancouver.

After 20 minutes, it was Cale Makar 2, Oilers 0. He didn't end up with a hat trick, though, and none of the Avalanche players did, although four guys had two-goal games. Jack Drury, Parker Kelly and Nathan MacKinnon were the others with multi-goal games, while Gavin Brindley had just a single marker. MacKinnon also had two apples, while Devin Toews was good for three helpers, too.

A few years back I caught a game in Vancouver, and then ended up driving the Coquihalla Highway up to Kamloops, then onto the Trans-Canada Highway through Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Golden, Banff and Canmore to Calgary to visit the Scotiabank Saddledome two days later. The Avalanche were going the other way, and I know they flew. Driving between Calgary and Vancouver is an arduous task, although it is a beautiful part of the world.

Hopefully the Avs didn't leave their scoring shoes...err, skates...in Edmonton. The last time the Avalanche played in a back-to-back situation, it won 4-2 in Vegas, before losing 3-2 in overtime in San Jose the next night last Saturday. In fact, in both games this season when playing on no rest, the Avalanche have lost in overtime both times while splitting the Over-Under 1-1 in those outings.

Vancouver was also in action Saturday night, winning 4-3 behind Kevin Lankinen as underdogs (-105) with the Over (6.5) cashing for a fifth straight outing. Jake DeBrusk, Drew O'Connor, Conor Garland and Brock Boeser provided the offense. The Over is 7-1 in the past eight games, too.

For the Canucks on no rest, they won 4-3 in OT on Oct. 26 after losing the Montreal the night before. It won 3-2 in a shootout in Chicago in the first back-to-back after a win in Dallas Oct. 16.

It might be a little expensive, but playing the Canucks on the puck line as underdogs is the way to go. Colorado has gone to OT in both games on no rest this season, while Vancouver has gone to either OT or a shootout in its two extra-session games. And, based on Vancouver's Over streak lately, go high on the total.

  • Canucks ML (+145 at Bet365, BetMGM, ESPN Bet and Fanatics Sportsbooks)
  • Over 6 Goals (-118 at BetMGM, BetRivers Sportsbooks)

Winnipeg Jets at Anaheim Ducks

The Jets (9-5-0) and Ducks (10-3-1) meet at Honda Center at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

The Ducks were just in action Saturday night, winning 4-3 in overtime at Vegas as heavy underdogs (+190). Anaheim has won six in a row, and eight of nine, yet the sportsbooks continue to disrespect Anaheim. The Ducks are underdogs at home against the visiting Jets despite a much better record.

Anaheim has won seven of the past eight games as an underdog, and it has eight straight covers on the puckline as an underdog, going 6-1-1 SU in that span. The Ducks are playing on no rest for the first time this season.

Winnipeg has had a power outage lately, losing back-to-back games to L.A. and San Jose, scoring a total of just one goal, while allowing five. The Under has cashed in each of the games.

Winnipeg is 4-2-0 on the road, losing the past two, while the Under is 3-1 in the past four away games.

The Over is 3-0 in the past three games for the Ducks, while holding a slight 3-2 edge in the five home games this season.

Lukas Dostal (7-3-1, 2.81 GAA, .904 SV%) is expected to be back in the crease after Petr Mrazek started in Vegas. We'll side with the Ducks here, and go low on the total.

  • Ducks ML (+125 at ESPN Bet Sportsbook)
  • Under 6.5 Goals (-140 at Fanatics Sportsbooks)
