Not competitive once again
February 29, 2020
Fairn lost to Felicia Spencer via TKO (punches) at 3:37 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Norfolk, Virginia.
In all honesty, Fairn was done right around the three-minute mark, but referee Dan Miragliotta allowed her to eat 30 seconds or needless punishment for no reason. It's been a rough night at the office for the refs. As for Fairn, placing her the co-main event slot appeared to make no sense entering the evening and it looks even worse now. She has suffered first-round stoppage losses in each of her first two UFC bouts. The UFC is going to have a difficult time justifying running the 33-year-old out there for another fight. There simply isn't anything here.
Facing Spencer at Norfolk
December 18, 2019
Fairn is set to face Felicia Spencer in a featherweight bout at UFC Norfolk on Feb. 29, MMA Junkie reports.
Dos Santos will attempt to rebound from her submission loss (triangle choke) to Megan Anderson at UFC 243 in October, but Spencer presents a tough matchup. Spencer coincidentally defeated Anderson via a rear-naked choke in the first round of their bout in May before falling to Cris Cyborg in her last fight in October. Dos Santons is 6-3 overall in professional MMA but is looking for her first UFC victory.
Submitted in UFC debut
October 5, 2019
Dos Santos lost to Megan Anderson via submission (triangle choke) at 3:57 of Round 1 at UFC 243 on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
Dos Santos' UFC debut was one to forget. Other than a brief offensive flurry right after the opening bell rang, she offered no resistance whatsoever. The fight quickly ended up on the mat and the debuting dos Santos looked exceedingly uncomfortable on the ground. She entered as a +335 underdog and it's easy to see why. The sample size is obviously small, but dos Santos doesn't appear to be a UFC-caliber fighter. Anderson had really struggled of late and dos Santos still had nothing for her.
UFC debut set
July 26, 2019
Dos Santos will face Megan Anderson at UFC 243 in Melbourne, reports.
This will be dos Santos' first fight under the UFC banner. She hasn't fought competitively since 2017 and will also be fighting on Anderson's home turf of Australia, so it appears dos Santos has a couple notable disadvantages to overcome.
